Great Haircut. Great Price – I walked in off the street. It was busy, but she said she could take me (it's a very small salon) I had just washed my hair a few hours before, so I said I didn't need a wash. She had the other guy blowdry my hair very very straight until she was ready to cut it. I have very baby-fine longish hair. I have had a few sub-par haircuts from salons in Chinatown, mainly because they are used to cutting thicker hair all day and don't know what to do with mine.

Jun immediately diagnosed my problem "too pointy in the back, too much layering. I will cut 1.5 inches off." At first I thought that might be too much, but after 15 minutes of cutting, my hair looked like a million bucks. My boyfriend said it looked like I came out of the $80 hipster salon next to his apartment in the lower east side.

The damage-get this-$12. I could not believe the price. Next time I will get the wash since I think it's $16 or $20 with the wash.

I noticed someone mentioned language problems. I have gone to other salons in Chinatown where no one spoke any English at all. Jun speaks English quite well and understood exactly what I said. I read somewhere she worked at Bumble and Bumble, but I did not ask her about it and cannot confirm that is true. Regardless, she did a great job. I used to go to Hoshi Coupe because I liked their precision, but I think I got a better haircut at Jun for $12 then I did at Hoshi Coupe for $60.

Highly Recommended.

DO NOT recommend. NOT for people with long hair, really long wait and language barriers. – After reading all the positive recommendations on citysearch, I decided to give Jun a try. I called on a Sat morning and Jun picked up. I asked if I can make an appt for 5pm on that Sat, she said yes, that's a good time, not too busy. I walked in at 5:08 (yes, I was a few mins late, the salon is wayyyy west of Mott St, moreso than I had thought). The place was small and packed. I agree with someone else's posting... the bathroom and "coat closet" is in the basement and a tad annoying, you have to go thru a narrow and steep set of stairs - be careful! The place is very small, but looks really white, clean and smells pretty good.

A guy immediately began to wash my hair... I'm part Chinese and can understand what they were saying the whole time while they assumed I didn't. Jun was running super late so I was given a super long wash. I wouldn't have mind except my neck still hurts(it's Monday night as I write this) from the sink. The wash was good, he also spent a lot of time drying my wavy hair straight (the wash & dry took over an hour and half), which I didn't need but Jun insisted on the guy to dry my hair pin straight (found out why later). I sat and waited for about 40 mins while Jun was busy chatting/flirting with her male workers and she skipped me and did someone else first. Finally my turn. I needed a simple haircut and gave instructions NOT to cut my hair short. Just 2 inches off the ends, some layers in the front and the shortest layer by my chin. She totally ignored me and cut off 7 inches. I have random flyaway layers in the back with some weird tail-like ends and my shortest layer on the left side is 2 inches shorter than the right.

She spent only about 10-15 mins on my hair, this is why everyone gets their hair blown pin straight so all she has to do it cut and nothing else. The whole process took over 2.5 hours. I was so annoyed I just wanted to run out. She charged me 28$ which is more than what other salons charge.

Not looking much further... – I've been going to Jun's for past 5 yrs, several occassions I tried other salons (what was I thinking? I guess I wanted to see what others had to offer...) But I end up going back to Jun's for all its got to offer. The price is really reasonable, best to make appointment but I usually have no problem walking in & wait a bit. I get my hair washed there few times a month, the staff pretty much knows my life & they know exactly what/what not to do. People ask me for salon recommendations...my answer? You figure :)

Great Salon – I like everyone else was very skeptical of a salon that is located in Chinatown and only charges $19. I'm a bit of a hair snob and have always gone to well known salons. Having to leave my stylist of 8 years to move to NY from CA (His name is Chris at DI Pietro Todd if you are ever in the SF area) I've tried dozens of salons (Frederic Fekkai to name one) and I've never felt like the cut was worth the $100+ I've paid. Since Jun has worked at Bumble and Bumble for a number of years I decided to try her. Since then I have never went to anyone else . She gives great cuts that are, so far, the best that I've had in NY. I've been going for cuts there for over a year and I just recently got a body wave. She only charged $100 for the body wave which also included a hair cut and 4 deep conditioning treatments. You can't get any better than that! I would highly recommend going to see her.

There is only one con: It gets very crowded after 4pm on the weekdays. Even though you have an appointment you will have to wait awhile to see Jun. But it is a small price to pay and don't forget your only paying $19 for a great hair cut!

Best wash, cut n style in NYC for $19 – I would not trust my hair to any other stylist at this point. I have been a loyal fan of Jun's for over 3 years now. Her associates do an amazing job at the shampoo and conditioning treatments. She is awesome at the cutting and styling. Also if you want highlights then she is the one to go to! its a bit of a treck to Chinatown but its well worth the reasonable prices. If you go on a weekday morning/ afternoon (Monday- thursday) you will beat the crowd!

Great Haircut – My stylist of 20 years was not answering her phone or returning my calls for a week so in desperation I went to Jun for a haircut. This was a pretty difficult decision since I have been going to the same person for so long. For several months prior to my appt. I heard about this great hair stylist and how pleased everyone was but again, change is difficult. In any event, this was a perfect opportunity so off I went and I was not disappointed. I got a great haircut. The staff is lovely; the very best head massage, shampoo you will ever receive in your life. Although the salon is small, it works. I have since referred Jun's Salon to several people and they're thrilled. Also, you can't beat the price: $19!!! I hear her specialty is hair coloring so if I were you, I would get on down to Chinatown.

Great Cut! – I was skeptical of a $19 cut, but decided to try it. The place is small and crowded, but clean and friendly. Jun gave me an awesome cut, which I would normally pay $60 for. I will definitely be going back. Worth the trip to Chinatown.

Most customer-oriented salon ever! – The staff is small but sincere, customer service is great, the price is extremely affordable, results turnout just right, exactly how you want it! Look for Jun or Nick.
