Worst Facial – I live right by here so I stopped in one night with my boyfriend to get a facial. I've had other facials before and know to expect that your skin can get a little red from being agitated, but when I got home and looked in a mirror, I had red welts all over my face from where the technician had used needles exclusively in their extraction process. The next day, there were still there and when I went in to talk to them about it -- they told me that it was normal and would need a week to heal. This is not normal in facials and their lack of customer service is just appalling -- give all the great places to go in the city -- STAY AWAY from this place!
Worst mani/pedi I've ever had – I've been to hundreds of the cheap nail salons around the city, and, usually, you get a very basic but at least presentable manicure/pedicure. This one was horrible. First, the person doing my mani/pedi cut me when cutting my toe nails. Then she didn't scrub the bottom of my feet. Then, she didn't even make the polish on my toenails go to the edge of the nails-- there is a huge unpainted gap between the cuticles and where the paint starts. Then, on my finger nails, she used the nail file excessively on top of the nails, so they are now all scratched up and will have to grow out before they are smooth like finger nails should be. She also filed my nails completely unevenly, so that I had to refile them again as soon as I got home. When I told her I thought they were uneven, she yelled at me and told me she was the expert. Overall, completely abysmal. Then again, I guess you get what you pay for-- it was cheap.
Full-body relaxation is closer, quicker and cheaper than Manhattanites might have thought. – In Short
This bright spa chain may look like just another spot for a quick polish change. But past the rows of manicure stations, pedicure tubs and black leather massage chairs are private rooms that host facials, waxing, massages and exotic body wraps--even microdermabrasion and oxygen therapy. The convenience is made even more so with 30-minute express facials ($40), which include steaming, deep cleansing, a face massage and mask.
