Food is good but.... – The menu is a bit overpriced compared to their competition even in parts of Manhattan

Awful Service, Dishonest Cashier – I would give it NO star at all, but the review doesn't allow me to do so.

This place leaves me with a bad taste in the mouth.

I was there with 2 friends last night. Total bill including tax came to $46.60. Therefore the 3 of us each took out a $20 bill to pay for the check (this restaurant does NOT accept anything other than cash). When the change came back, there was only $3.40. We were puzzled and asked the waiter who brought us the change what happened.

Another waitress came around, and insisted that we gave $50. That was odd, as the three of us all saw the three $20 bills each one of us took out. We were very clear on that, as none of us had any $10 bill in our wallets.

The restaurant not only refused to give back the $10 they owed us, the waitress was very impolite and raised her voice claiming that she was absolutely right. We were annoyed but didn't want to cause a scene, so we left. We would have given the $10 as the tip, but with the attitude we received, we vowed never to go back there regardless the quality of food. That was NOT what we would call service. It was the most horrible dining experience I have been through.

Beautiful decor, okay food – I went there for dinner on a Saturday night and there was no wait. The inside is classy with beautiful dark wood tables, chairs, and banquettes. This was my first time having Malaysian food. The roti canai was a good appetizer and I enjoyed the chicken rendang. The char kway teow (a noodle dish) was just so-so. The waitstaff was typical of my usual experiences at more authentic Asian establishments (not overly friend, not overtly rude, definitely efficient). All in all, I wasn't wowed, but I did have a pleasant experience and would go there again for the ambience and to try some of their other dishes.

Editorial Review – This relocated Manhattan restaurant serves up Malaysian fusion food that's infused with flavor, heavy on seafood and known for its kick.

Looks over substance – This place is a perfect example of a restaurant that relies on it "looks" rather than food to get by.
