cold and heartless surgeon – Dr. Paksima performed TFCC and ligament surgery 4 months ago. i had been experiencing terrible pain since the surgery. i had told Dr. Paksima that my symptoms included burning, tingling in my hands, fingers and wrist and severe pain. he prescribed napraxon and scheduled another vist 6 weeks later. i asked him was this normal and how long can i expect to be in this pain. he said the pain will last until it last and you just have to work through it.

Yesterday i went to see him again with the same horrible symptoms that were bringing me to tears. i told him that the physical therapy office said the symptoms sounded like there was a problem with the ulnar nerve. he acted like he didn't even hear me say anything. he said i don't know what you want me to do. i cant do anything else and if you want to see another dr i won't be offended. I said i want you to find out what is causing this pain. can't you take an xray or mri. he said the mri will only show inflammation because you just had surgery. he then went and told his asst to schedule an mri for me and told me he would call me with the results. he did not make another appt to see me and did not prescribe any pain medication. I felt as though he was throwing me away like a piece of garbage. i was in tears couldn't even catch my breath. he was the one that performed the surgery and with his 19 years experience could not give me a clue as to what possible reasons i could be having pain, he had no explanation whatsoever. i told him that i was in pain on a daily basis, it seemed as though he just wanted to get rid of me. i was no longer his problem. i was devastated. i told the asst nicole i would not be coming back.

Please, if you want a dr that has compassion choose someone else. Dr. Paksima is arrogant and rude and does not truly care about his patients. The only good thing i can say is he has a really nice physician asst by the name of ursala. she is very nice, warn and informative and also his support staff member Nicole. She is also very sweet.

Dr.paksima – I highly recommend Dr. Pakisma. His staff is GREAT(past and present) He takes the time to explain what he is doing and will answer any questions, even draw a picture!!!

Poor bed-side manner and unorganized staff – I went to Dr. Paksima for wrist surgery, my doctor referred me to him because he is supposed to be a hand specialist. While he carried out the actual surgery efficiently, I had little to no information about the day of surgery and the recovery period.

-During my first visit, I asked Dr. Paksima what I need to know, he said "The procedure only takes about a half hour. Movement will be tough at first but I'll give you some exercises. We'll talk more as you get closer to your surgery." There was no mention of what to expect right after surgery and since this was my first surgery, I didn't know what more to ask.

-During pretesting, the nurses said they couldn't tell me what to expect because they don't work directly with my doctor. But they said the procedure is very simple and usually short. My anesthesiologist was supposed to meet me that day but she had left already.

-When one of Dr. Paksima's nurses called me the Friday before my Monday surgery, I asked her what to expect and if I'd have to wear a brace. She said just an ace bandage.

-On the day of surgery, (after sitting in the waiting room for 2hrs with no explanation, and all the nurses said I should've known that surgery is an all day affair) I met with the Dr. for only the second time. He started talking about me having to keep my arm propped and elevated for a week. When I said I had to get back to work in 2 days he said "wow, you're wasting no time!" I told him I would have taken more time off if I'd been properly informed and I felt like he and his office didn't tell me anything. He said,"I know I tell all my patients what they need to know." When I said "no you didn't" he curtly cut me off, saying "I don't want to argue this anymore." There was no apology.

The whole process made me feel neglected and insignificant, and no one should have to feel that way right before their first surgery.
