Inedible – I have never felt compelled to write a review before now. I've eaten at some very good restaurants in my day, and plenty of mediocre ones, but this one took the cake for lousy food. The flatbread was tasty. The salad was decent but pedestrian. Then things went seriously down hill. My husband ordered the swordfish special and I ordered chicken marsala. BOTH entrees tasted so bad that we couldn't finish them, and that's really saying something. The mashed potatoes on the side tasted like instant potato flakes. Very, very disappointing for a meal that we spent more than 60 bucks on. When they offered us dessert, we declined. First because we felt sick from the nasty food, second because we'd already taken our chances and didn't want to spend any more money on potentially bad food, third because we just wanted to get out of there. While a mohawk on a busboy may be construed as quirky to some people, it just put our appetite off that much more.
With our bill came a review slip. This is the first time we've filled one out, and it wasn't pretty. I will NEVER go back, and have steered as many people away from it as I can. Don't waste your time or money.
Always a Great Experience – Okay so we've been a little spoiled with Epic's buy one entree get one free never expiring coupon that ran forever in the City Weekly and have been here oh about 20 times. Even without the coupon, it is one of the most consistent, best values for the quality of food establishments in the valley. The staff recognizes us every time we go and has since our second visit. Not once have I ever been disappointed. We've had pretty much everything on the menu. The flatbreads are really good with my favorite being the grilled chicken, dried cranberry english cheddar, toasted walnuts and garlic-parsley aioli ($8 I think). The hummus flatbread used to be $2 and is now $4 and my husband always gets one to go for a late-night snack. The menu is small but consistently great. They have appetizers like the artichoke mentioned below, crab cakes and a bowl of steamed mussels in white wine and garlic YUMM. They have about 7 salads all $6 each. The entrees include chicken madeira ($15), angel hair pasta with mushrooms and cream sauce ($15), pork tenderloin with sherry demi glace($?), and my absolute favorite - a 6 oz. beef tenderloin filet with port wine sauce and shallot mashers ($22). I could drink that port wine sauce and recommend asking for extra! Service is outstanding and attentive. The place gets packed and loud but the live acoustic music really adds to the atmosphere. I have never made a reservation there ever and never had to wait even a second even at 7 pm on a Thursday, but we never go on the weekends. The wine list is huge. This is fresh ingredients with consistent quality and exemplory service.
Not what it used to be – I used to love this place. What happened? I hadn't been to this restaurant in almost two years. I had such high expectations from when I used to eat here, but the last time I went the food was nothing but disappointing. Service was so so. I don't think I'll be back again soon.
Wow - Wow - Wow – This is our favorite restaurant in Utah. Doesn't look at all exciting from the outside, but it's a totally different experience inside. Go during the week for incredible acoustic guitar/vocals by local Ryan Miller. Get the hummus appetizer (who knew you could still find a $2 appetizer in the valley!!). The salmon and tri-tip are also mouth-watering. We've also never had better service anywhere else in the state.
Great Dining Experience – Great food, the wine list is excellent (a little light on the Sparkling Whites by the glass), the desserts are exceptional, the atmosphere is very comfortable, and the service is some of the best I've had since moving here. Both times we've been there were mid week and while it was a little busy we were seated immediately and really didn't have to wait for anything. This has been the best dining experience we've had yet, in Utah!
fabulous food – excellent food every time! don't miss the seared ahi tuna or the chicken marsala! the atmosphere is casual yet classy and the service is very accomodating
