I've never talked to any receptionist so snotty.
I called, and was very friendly, as I always am with people in the service industry because I have worked in the service industry for forever, and nothing is worse than a rude customer.
I found a gift card my mother had purchased for me a year and a half ago in my moving for about $160 worth of face wash. I called them to inquire about it, and the receptionist was very rude, and more than rude, unwilling to give an inch at all. There was no expiration date on the certificate, but she said they wouldn't honor it because it had been given to me by the old owner.
I understand the shift in management conundrum, but I think it's just bad business to not offer anything in return. Just bad customer service. Really, 160 bucks in product and they won't budge an inch, or offer anything wholesale (which wouldn't cost them anything).
After reading these reviews I am happy to note that I'm not the only one who had a bad experience.
Oh, and for the person who said that everyone who is complaining must just not be happy with anything: I am not that kind of customer. I NEVER write bad reviews, I never send my food back at restaurants, and I always tip at least 20% (even if my service is terrible). It just sounds to me like this owner is shooting him/herself in the foot. I feel cheated, dismissed and really sorry for this business.
if you're going to make a promise, keep it!.
honestly, after seeing the 20% discount left by the owner i thought that in case i didn't like it, oh well, it was at a discount BUT if i did like it, YAY! it was at a discount!
i just called in and asked if i could make an appt for a facial and after i told the girl of the discount, she (very snidely) told me that there was no such discount. i was a little shaken by her rudeness so i didn't continue the conversation any further but as soon as i hung up i made my way over to my laptop!
un-biased review. I recently decided to take the advice of the spa owner and check it out for myself. the spa owner was unfortunatley completely biased. the things that were said, whether by employees or clients, were absolutely true. the manager at the desk was very arrogant and rude to every client I saw come through the door. the services were only so-so and everything seemed to be a jumbled mess. You can still check it out for yourself but take it from me, the reviews are true.
loved it and i will return!. I was here visiting from California and was in desprate need of a massage. I saw them from the street and thought I would give it a shot, I would take anything to relive my back. Everyone was so friendly and helpful I was suprised. (you usally get those stuffy, unpersonable people working at these kinda places) The massage was incredible! I got a mud wrap to go along with it too! i spoiled my self that day. I have travled all over the world and this one was in my top 3 best massages i have had. I felt so pamped i got a pedicure as well to top off my relaxing day. I read some of the other comments about Deleon Day Spa, and I had a lovely time and recommend it to anyone in the area.
Come check us out for yourself!!. As the owner of DeLeon Day Spa & Salon, I would like to comment on the negative reviews left interestingly enough, all on the same day. I hope people that may read these will not take the advice of ex-employees. Thank you Haley, Arica and the other no-longer employees for leaving those reviews! I wish you guys the best of luck in all that you do! For those who do read this and choose to come check out the spa for yourself, please mention this review on citysearch and you will receive 20% off any spa service.
Ideal Relaxation. I recently spent the day at Deleon for an escape from my normal work week. It was SO relaxing. I'm not sure what these other complaints are about. Maybe just from people who aren't pleased by anything no matter how well they are treated. I have been to spas all over the country and this experience easily measured up to those. I was there long enough to be greeted by one receptionist, a male, who was very polite and helpful. Later when checking out to leave I was helped by a female receptionist who was very sweet and warm. I will for sure be returning to Deleon. Especially for the facials. They're fantastic. Try them out! You won't be sorry!
First and only time. All I can say is I should have checked all these reviews first! I had no idea I would be in for an uncomfortable afternoon! I would sound like a broken record to repeat these reviews of a poor manager, but they are so true. I would find another place if you're looking to be treated decently.
Rude and Disrespectful.
I've been going to Deleon Day Spa for a long time now, recently there has been a change in management when the nicest receptionist I have ever come across left the spa. The next time I called to schedule an appointment, it took several attempts to actually get through to someone. When I finally did, I spoke to a man who didn't seem to know anything about the services or the system through which they did the scheduling. When I came in for my appointment, he was extremely rude to me until he realized I was a fairly regular client. At that point he pretended to be the nicest most caring person in the spa. After about ten minutes of his frantic searching, he informed me that my appointment wasn't until tomorrow. I would have to come back. He made it seem as if I had messed up the days and it wasn't his problem. Though I am absolutely certain I had my days correct. I asked if they had anything else available that day and he condescendingly informed me "No, we are already booked for today, sorry." I am really unhappy with the way he spoke to me and the way I saw him treat the girls who work there.
I decided to give it one more try and schedule a massage with my favorite therapist, Haley. I called this week to get an appt and he told me that she no longer works there. I asked if Arica had any appointments open and he told me she no longer works there either. He also wasn't willing to give me their personal numbers, which I can understand, but it really interests me that two really great therapists are no longer working for him.
Needless to say, I will be finding a new spa to frequent.
So disappointed. I was given a gift certificate from my family for a pedicure. I had never had a pedicure before and was so excited to try it out. I saved it for a special occasion wanting to have my feet be pampered and to look nice for a weekend that my husband and I were going out. I called in the beginning of the week and talked to a male, I'm guess he is the receptinoist. He sounded confused and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Then he told me that he was too busy to book me and that he would call me back later. I never got a call. I called a couple days later and no one answered. I continued to call and left messages. No one ever called me back. I was so disappointed that I was not able to get my feet done for our special weekend. The next week I was able to get through to a female, I guessing a receptionist as well. She booked me for the next morning. I went in for my appt and checked in with the male receptionist who didn't even acknowledge me at first. When he did he was very unfriendly and rude. Not what I expected from a day spa receptionist. Finally, I nice young girl came to get me for my pedicure. She did an amazing job. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed and my toes were so cute when she finished. Shiloh Miller gave me her card and a service menu and walked me up front where she told me Michael would check me out. Again, he didn't seem to know what he was doing. I stood up front for 10 min while he made phone calls to ask how to check me out with my gift certificate. Very unprofessional. I left the spa with very cute toes the softest feet, but the receptionist made me feel like I was just another person to just put money in his pocket. Again, not what I expected from a day spa. I am so disappointed.
terrible management. i had a mothers day getaway planned this week, and i came in and it was not in the schedule i guess. it was ridiculous because when the manager was called (who i spoke with when making the appointments) he told the receptionist to just call whoever and see if they could come in, and then told the girl who was trying to help me that it wasn't his fault in a very rude manner. needless to say, the girls were very helpful, and i was able to get in later, but i sure hope the owner fixes these problems!
