Great Food; Great Service; Never a Dissapointment – This restaurant was recommended by friends who live in KCK. They took us there for the first time a couple of years ago. We were impressed by the food and service. We enjoyed their sangria and Italian butter (for dipping bread). I am not sure whether we ordered regular or Caesar salads, but we liked the salads we were served. I have had the chicken spedini and other pasta dishes. I haven't tried anything there I didn't like. I have invited friends there for dinner. We have recommended it to friends. My husband has treated his staff from work there. No one has ever had a complaint. This is in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood, so it is completely safe. By all means, give it a try!

Neither food or wine is high quality – The Scene: We went on a Sat. night in December, and it was not crowded. The atmosphere was nice, even romantic (once you get inside the restaurant).

The Food: We ordered the Pasta Primavera with Chicken (recommended by our Server) and the Chicken Oscar, a chicken-shrimp-asparus-pasta alfredo dish. The entress came with a salad. We ordered the house (not the Cesar), but it came coated with a kind of Cesar dressing. I wished the non-Cesar salad was more unlike a Cesar salad. Both entree dishes came FLOATING in alfredo sauce, which is not my idea of finely crafted cuisine--in the case of my dish, it just covered up limp, soggy asparagus, and overcooked chicken and shrimp. I suppose if you throw enough cream, cheese, and garlic you can make anything taste good. It wasn't terrible, just kind of boring, like something I could make at home with a bottle of Prego.

The Wine: we each order a glass. They don't offer half-bottles, and their list of wines by the glass is limited. My Italian wine was pretty dry and harsh, not smooth or complex. Her Merlot was better, but still nothing special. I'd expect that from a $12 bottle, not from a $29 bottle.

Prices: Entrees run from $10 (Plain ol' Spaghetti) to $19 (the seafood pastas), not including the salad ($2.50 extra). The meal does come with warm bread. I didn't think it was a good value, given the lackluster quality. Wine was $7.50 per glass, bottles ranging from $22 on the low end to $65 on the high.

Service: Seated promptly, and our server was polite and quick without hovering. Water and bread were refilled/restocked. However, they did come wipe down our table while we were still sitting there, which annoyed me.

There are enough places to get good Italian food in here (Osteria il Centro was fantastic, for example), and enough places I haven't tried that I won't likely be back.
