Look Somewhere Else – I was in the process of looking for an apartment in downtown because of my job and came across Metro 417. The website looked pretty decent so I made an appointment with the leasing office. When I arrived, I was advised that the unit listed online was no longer available. The unit was available 2 hours ago and now its not available? I asked the leasing agent if he had any appointments before mine and was advised that I was his first appointment. So, then how can a unit just all of the sudden become unavailable? I thought it was a bit odd but regardless, I saw the units that were available. While on tour, I met one of the residents of Metro 417 in the evelator and asked how he liked it here, and he answered "Don't move in." I decided on not moving into Metro 417. If I wasn't getting the truth from the start, why would I sign a year contract, right. The building is beautiful but that's about it.
Not the Best Apartment Home in Downtown LA – I went for a tour at Metro 417. The building itself was quite nice but the security was so very rude. You need to ring the security to gain access to the parking lot and building. I have never ran across such a rude man. It seemed like he hated his job and didn't want to let anyone into the building. The security is the first person you get in contact with at this building. The monthly rent is quite high compared to other apartment homes in the downtown area. And you only get one parking space per unit. I have called the leasing office after my first visit to ask a few questions and no one answered the phone all day. My guess is, you'll be able to find a better apartment home with a more professional staff for the price you'll be paying here.
Nice place to live/HORRIBLE Security Andre – Love, Love the building and sales/management staff. Yes it is pricey for sure! But if you work in downtown, it a perfect and SAFE. However guest parking is LIMITED, 12 for the entire building. Andre the security supervisor, is rude and horrible to deal with. AVOID him at all costs. He will make your living experience Horrible, oh and he lives in the building! He's rude, vulgar, passive aggressive, and uses the little power he has to make life at Metro 417 difficult. Other than that, the building is fun and the tenants are professional and friendly.
Great security, but they love taking your money! – The apartment was clean and the people were very friendly; however, it seemed overpriced for what it was. The apartments are incredibly loud because the windows are all single pane orginals. It's impossible to sleep well. The parking structure is filthy and the halls are not well maintained. But I do have to say that the gym is great it was always spotless.
The security is wonderful in the building and you will always come home to a smiling face. Plus, Metro (the dog at the front desk) is the cutiest puppy.
I wish I could say the same thing for the administration of the complex. They seem to find anyway they can to get your money. Whether it's nickel and diming on the deposit or misleading you on contracts and letters. It is absolutely impossible to get your total deposit back even if you scrub the apartment and never put a single hole in the wall. They WILL find something and charge you for cleaning the apartment anyway.
So, if money isn't an issue and you don't mind being ripped off, this is the place for you.
