excellent food, superb service, reasonable prices – This is my favorite downtown Los Angeles restaurant for lunch. The food is excellent, the service superb, and the prices reasonable. I eat there about once a month and am always highly satisfied. I?ve taken out-of-town visitors there as well and they too think this is a great ?find.?

Italian food served with a smile! – I've actually eaten there several times and like it alot. They can get very busy during the day and may be understaffed, but the waitstaff is super friendly and they are hard workers. For a full service restaurant the prices can't be beat and the portions are large. I work downtown and its a nice place to go to get out of the office, have a glass of wine and enjoy some good Italian food. I do know that they service charge parties of 5 or more as our office had a party of 10 there once, but it was written on their menu so we knew in advanced. I'm going to say that it is one of the better places to eat near my office.

Bad food, Bad Service, Bad ETHICS! – The food was substandard, the service was worse, but the clincher was when they added the gratuity to the check without telling us! I asked what it was and was told it was a "hotel charge." Except that the restaurant has no affiliation to the Bonaventure or the Westin, so that is a bald-face lie! I later learned from a co-worker who used to go there that they added the 18% because my business associate, a German, had "an accent." Apparently a waiter (who is no longer there) told my co-worker off the record that they added 18% to anybody who has an accent and to parties of 5 or more. BUT they also don't tell the patron because they're hoping for a double tip! And this is house policy!

So not only is the food really bad, the atmosphere cheesy, and the service just ridiculously slow, (but then when you taste the food you wish they had never brought it anyway) but they are deceptive, dishonest and discriminatory!
