Decent quality, attentive service, not too busy weeknights – I decided to go here because it was in my Entertainment coupon book. When I asked if they still honor the discount and what it would apply to, the waitress said she would tell me after I ate. WTF?! Since we were already seated, I just dealt with it.
All the food was good and came quickly. Not the neatest sushi rolls, so I had rice all over, but the flavor was good- spicy actually meant spicy.
I would go again, but not without a discount because it would've too expensive for the quality.
BTW, the side street is now open so you don't have to drive through WalMart parking, but I don't remember the name
I was disappointed by how they chose to cut cost corners – I'm allergic to fish, but love good teriyaki. This restaurant name is well known, so I had little apprehension when I went to visit the first time. The menu posted on the door listed chicken breast teriyaki, so I went in and ordered it. What I was given was chicken thigh teriyaki. I know it's a small difference, but to me, it means alot - I REALLY don't like the way teriyaki blends with the dark meat. I brought this to their attention, and they looked shocked - as if I was some crazy woman. They showed me their menu - the word "breast" had been blocked out. Unfortunately, they didn't bother to block out that word on the menu out front, or on the multitude of to go menus that were available - the one I used as a basis for ordering my meal. I understand breast meat is more expensive - but frankly - I'd be more than willing to pay for it. I felt like I was in the middle of a bait and switch. Most of my friends love sushi - but I need to be able to have something I can tolerate while they are enjoying their meal. I feel like I was cheated here, unfortunately, I won't be coming back.
A little pricey, but great sushi. – The obvious sign of a good sushi restaurant - busy with locals. Now, since this place is close to a slew of business highrises, the 'locals' are the tie-wearing folk, but that's okay. The sushi and sashimi are both very fresh and perfectly sized. The boats and dinners can be a little on the pricey side - ie, $17+, but if you come in for lunch, then you can get away with a nice sized bento for under $10. Parking during lunch can be a little crazy sometimes, but if you don't mind walking for a bit, you can find plenty of places to park. Also, to get to the restaurant, you have to enter from 190th, and finagle your way through the busy Wal-Mart area, so keep in mind that you might need a little extra time for driving.
Overall, a good sushi bar, and worth a try.
