worst place ever. the owner has got some anger mngmt issues. and he charged me way too much after he said he was getting me a $500-700 deal. called the local factory place and it woulda been 200 less for more work.
story goes like this.... nathan tells me to bring my bike back after he did my valves. he told me he put some double spring things, that i don't know about, on my bike. i weigh like 140-145pnds. i couldn't kick the bike over on flat surfaces. i called and told him that this set up is not good. he told me to bring the bike in and it'd take about an hour, and he closes at 6. i'm pretty far away, and friday traffic... i'm trying my best to get there by 4:45. when i get there, he's closing his shop. he knew i was racing this weekend, so he told me to put the bike in his shop. so i did knowing i'd have to drive back the next day. i don't live close to his shop. i was a little upset. i asked him what time it would be done and all that, cause i had plans and wanted to make sure i could pick up the bike. he could tell i wasn't too happy, but that was that. here's where it gets crazy. as i'm walking back to my truck to leave he mumbles something at me, so i turn and ask what he said. he tells me that he's doing the work for free, so just chill out. i told him i understand that, but i was told to get the bike there and he'd work on it that day. that's why i wasn't happy. then he said "if your gonna give me sh*t, you can just take your bike out my shop and F'n leave. i don't need your F****IN business. as was like fine. i take it back. as i'm getting my bike he keeps insisting that it wasn't his fault, and he only did what i asked him to do. i told him i never heard of some double spring vavle spring, so how could you say that i told you to put that on. then he starts telling me that i have a bad attitude and i'm trying to blame him that i can't start my bike. i said no. i'm upset cause you said you'd work on my bike and now your not. then he was like...and i quote "i don't need your F***IN business. I'm rich!! i do this for fun. my parents are dead and i don't need the money or your F***IN money" i was like WOW!! ok. i told him (as i'm doing now) don't expect a good review from me. and this is how horrible a guy he is. another direct quote.... "i got a F***IN strong spirit. your gonna go over your F****IN bars and land on your neck this weekend" are you kidding me??? who says that. then i got pissed and started yelling back at him, and he was like "oh so now your gonna start F'n yelling at me??" i was like yeah. you been yelling at me for the last 5 minutes. as i'm backing out he's still trying to argue with me. i was like just shut up already!!! then he says..."it's not my fault your a F'n pussy and can't start your own F'n bike. I did." yes he did start my bike, but it was tied down in the back of my truck, and he was standing up on it. not on flat ground. and nathan... my buddy who's 185 couldn't kick the thing over on flat ground either, and i don't think he'll take to well you calling everyone who can't start my bike on flat ground a pussy.
he must have told me 5 times that he has a strong spirit, and i'm going to go over the bars and landing on my neck. strong spirit?? don't get it, but wishing that on anyone is just horrible!! and atleast 10 times that he's rich cause his parents are dead. huh?? (i actually said sorry when he yelled this in my face) well.... hope you truely are rich, and don't need my money cause your a moron, and eventually people are going to see the real you, and how you rip people off, and then get mad at them cause they're not happy with your work. what ever happened to the customer is right. and go take some anger management coarses.
Fair Review – I like Nathan, the owner of Factory Wrench. He really cares about the work he does, and tries to help people out when he can. Unfortunately, this is offset by his impatience with novices.
I brought in my beat up 1983 Honda Magna, and even though he says he thought of telling me to take a hike, he decided to help me out. And he was very helpful and put a lot of time into talking to me about my needs. He did me a favor by not taking his usual half-payment in advance, and charged me the cheaper of his hourly rates (though he didn't point this out, and I didn't read the contract closely enough, so I didn't realize this until after the work was done, and I'd pissed him off). He let me provide used parts, and put a lot of time into making sure that they worked properly.
However, I am a novice with motorcycles, and I didn't understand right away what sort of deal and service he was providing me. When I tried to understand by talking to him about my bill, he assumed I was unappreciative (rather than just ignorant). He said he didn't want to work on my bike, and that he didn't need to work for money; he does it for fun, and me asking questions about my bill took the fun out of it. He was not interested in hearing my apologies or explanations, and hung up on me after a few minutes.
If you go to Factory Wrench, and you like the work they do, just don't question your bill, or you will be asked to not return.
Work not done correctly or on time – They insist you pay cash, sometimes before any work is done (cash flow / parts ordering problem)
The owner yells at customers (I've witnessed this first hand).
Work orders not done to specification and are sometimes lost (also experienced this first hand).
Charged for work that wasn't done correctly, or wasn't done at all.
in short, NEVER take anything here to be fixed.
Worst Repair Shop !!! – Had me paid cash upfront, then totally failed in servicing the bike correctly, gave it back to me with broken parts, refused to give me a refund and was verbally abusive and I mean not just rude but ghetto-jail like abusive. Did some search on the web and I am not the only one... stay away from that shop.
Worst experience EVER! Owner is rude, unethical, and cannot fix anything!! – If you're ever in Torrance and see a sign that says ?Cycle Doctor? or a guy named Nathan, please turn and run. Please don?t ever even consider taking your bike here. I had a problem with my charging system, so I dropped my bike off and Nathan (the owner) told me he would call me with an estimate. A day later, he called and told me it needed about $400 worth of work to fix the charging system and do an oil change. A day after that, he called again and said the bike might need a new wiring harness - another $500+ - but that he could fix it without the wiring harness. I got another call later that night and was told he could not get it to charge. I told him that I would come pick the bike up so it would be out of his way until I decided what to do. He said it would be $160 for the work he had done and asked if I still wanted the oil change. I told him no I would deal with that later. Saturday I called to see if I could pick up the bike. This is when the problems began. He told me it would now be $241 for the parts and the oil change. I told him we agreed not to do the oil change and was told that it had already been done. So I asked for a breakdown of the price and he started adding things on to the $241 and getting angry. He told me I was trying to rip him off and steal from him. I never even once tried to negotiate with him. He proceeded to attack me personally and even started making comments about my girlfriend. Then he told me that I could not come get my bike until Tuesday because he was going to close up the shop. When I went to pick up the bike, I found it sitting out in front of the shop unattended. When I got to the shop, his 12 year old son was the only one there to take my money. The part that I supposedly paid for was not even installed on the bike! It was given to me in a ziplock bag. So what did he do to the bike? Nothing. Not a thing. I am actually afraid he sabotaged the bike somehow. I guess I?ll only know when I take it to a real mechanic.
Horrible Customer Service!!!....Very Unethical behavior by the Owner/Mechanic. Would not recommend even if it was free service. – Had some work done on my bike. The owner/ mechanic ended up having to redo his work 2 times after the intitial installation. Instead of replacing clutch cable with new one, he decided to just extend it. Cable broke on me while I was riding 2 times! The last time I brought it back, his manurism was that of a uneducated teenager...cursing heavily at me and blaming me for his improper installation. Mind you that I approached him in with nothing but a profession manner and wasn't even upset as long as he'd fix it the right way. After all said and done, he still didn't replace the cable with a new one and just soddered the old one. I ended up replacing it the next week with a new one.
Perfect customer service – Excellent service and great pricing. Had tune and service done that another shop fouled up, he fixed it for very low price and let me watch the procedure. Had great OEM parts connection that was quick to deliver new foot peg for my GSXR750, thanks again.
bad quality of service – Can do the job but has horrible service. Does not know how to deal with customers. Completely lacks social skills.
