the best shows in town – ive been coming here for a longtime and i love it. The music is very good and the shows r brilliant. U should go. Tywan.
The Best Gay/Lesbian Bar – This place has really got it going on....the MC for the drag shows will keep you in tears from laughing so-o
hard.The bathroom's could use some remodeling,and the cover is W-A-Y 2 H-I-G-H!!!.
They need to take all the money from the cover charge and purchase some addional parking, because you are going to walk a distance then pay the the 18.00 to get in.....and hope not to get mug going from or to your car.
All in all the best a great place with great people.
Best gay/dance bar in town. Period. – This is hands down the best dance club in town... I have been coming there for ages, and will continue to come for alot more... Highly reocommened!
Variety of environments in one multi-bar complex – The main bars in The Connection cater to young gay men and women as well as young straight people. (I can't use the L-word because Citysearch's computer told me it was inappropriate!) If you pay the cover, you can go into the large disco with fancy lighting--it is extremely loud, but people seem to have fun. There are some smaller, quieter areas off of the dance bar where one could have a conversation. Also within the cover charge is a large well-equipped theatre which hosts drag performance (mostly lip-synching to dance anthems in elaborate costume). Some of the performers appear to be in gender transition (i.e., real breasts). The host(ess) is outrageous and truly funny. The place is packed late nights on weekends. On the south side of the building is another bar to which cover is not required. It's a 2-story place with an outside patio upstairs. This one does not really seem to have a personality at this point. To the north along Floyd Street is Boots, with its separate entrance. It caters to older, bear and leather types. Only men are allowed in. Boots is extremely dark and I won't go into the various activities that occur in its dark recesses. One draw-back of all of these bars is that the drinks are expensive by local standards (a 4 dollar bottle of water, for example). Parking can be difficult, but is available if you walk a couple of blocks.
AWESOME DANCING AND SHOW! – Love Connections it is a great bar with awesome dancing. the drag show is a must see and is HIL AR IOUS!!! love it! it has a great crowd- even my straight guy friends like it!
over priced horrible shows – The drinks and cover are over priced for the show they actually put on. I made the mistake by going back a 2nd time- still tired old show. The only reason the show is funny, is because the performers are terrible.
The only thing nice about this club is the ability to sit outside on a nice day on the patio upstairs. It's sad that this is the only place in Louisville that has drag shows...
A Really Hot Time! – Well, let's just say this sleekly designed, energy-infused mammoth of a nightclub blows all the other fish out of the water. If drag queens are what's up your alley, the cast here tops them all. If dancing is your thing (as it is mine), you'll have trouble pulling yourself off the football field-sized (ok, not really but almost) dancefloor and away from the much-better-than-usual club tunes. The vast majority of boys at this venue range from pretty good-looking to exceedingly hot, and if you like strippers, the go-go boys (clad only in thongs) on Saturday night are well worth a few of your hard-earned dollars. And believe me, they're willing to work hard for your money. All in all, the Connection proves to provide its patrons a slew of quality entertainment, an awesome, high-energy ambiance, and a really hot time!
Great Mix and Great Fun – Beautifully decorated, straight-welcomed gay bar. Everyone gets along well, with a high overall comfort level. Good DJ in the main dance room plays a nice mix of house and hip-hop to a crowd that includes very talented dancers of all persuasions. Open late (4 AM). Don't miss the hilarious drag show down the hall - expect a few mere strutters but several incredibly entertaining dancers.
A gigantic dancefloor. Awesome lighting and sound. Drag queens. What more could you want from Louisville's most popular dance club?
– The Scene
The Connection is one of Louisville's best dance clubs for a couple of reasons. The first is its enormous dancefloor, augmented by a killer light show and booming sound system. Technically a gay club, Connection's weekend crowd is a blend of genders and sexual preferences, making for a fun mix. The main room is beautifully decorated and enormous, with plenty of nooks and crannies to hide in.
Connection DJs (including resident DJ Tom) take pride in keeping their music current, eschewing the cheesy staples of Top 40, but remaining focused on their priority: moving the crowd. Non-dancers can retire to Connection's handsomely appointed theater, which plays host to male strippers and female impersonators every weekend.
While You're There
A patio retreat with an ivory tickler soothes ringing ears, and a video bar plays music from years past along with more contemporary hits.
great place 2 go – love the place, me and my friends feel comfortable there, only problem is the excessive amounts of straight females coming in the bar on weekends, causing problems and making gay slanders
