"She ain't what she used to be!" – This place was my favorite steak place in Louisville...BAR NONE! As a customer who has dined here since 1981, I have seen the very good and the very bad. And right now, it's very bad. My last 3 visits have firmly convinced me that the service and quality of food, is nothing more then a memory. To say the management (owner) is rude would be an understatement! It's gotten so bad, that if you have a large group dining there, forget about getting your steak cooked properly. As a matter of fact, it didn't seem to matter lately rather I ate there in a large group or not, they consistently either undercooked my steak or burnt it! This place is living proof, that when a formula used to get a place from the bottom to the top is abandoned after getting there, it will always sink back to the bottom.
Poor service & Rude Management – Very mediocre food with little or no service and rude management when we complained. They do not have a no-smoking area. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, they seated people right next to each other.
I just don't get it... – So, finally after a year of living in Louisville and hearing all the rave reviews, I went to Pat's. And I'll never go back nor will I EVER recommend it to another soul. The best thing I had were the lima beans which, no doubt, were canned from Sysco. The tough, well-done low-grade pork chops were tasteless, the rolls, reminiscent of brown and serves, were hard and our server though kind and attentive was less than what I would deem knowledgeable about the menu or cuisine in general. Our $74 tab for two (sans tip) was way too expensive for what we got. I could think of a million places where I could spend less and have a better dining experience.
awesome – this place is great and always a treat. if you want to have a great meal (especialy a great steak) with great service, this is one place to consider! I could go on and on, but you really should just go try for yourself - you wont be disappointed!
Top Of The Line – My visit to Pat's Steak House was one I will not soon forget. I was astounded by the service we were given as well as the great food and wine. White table cloths and rich wood paneling in the old style was impressive. Prompt and courteous service and the delicous food was worth every dollar of the pricey tab in the end. I highly recommend this restaurant. Prime rib and White Zinfandel done just so was my choice.
Very good. – The steaks are good, very good. The Lima Beans are terrific. Try em, even if you think you won't like them. I really like this place. Cash only.
Pat's is best – Forget those national chain steak houses that are so overpriced in both food and drink. Pat's is a local gem and one of the best kept secrets in Louisville. They only take cash or checks, but the food and service are the best. They treat you like family and the owner is always available to make certain you are happy and well fed. I love this place!
This old favorite's decor might be a little aged, but its buttery steaks and potatoes are timeless. – The Scene
In a leafy suburb, just east of downtown, this steakhouse exudes an old-fashioned charm, from the green-coated waiters to its dark-paneled, woody nooks. On the weekends, it's almost impossible to get a table without a reservation. But, if you're waiting, the bar is an excellent spot to bide your time and soak up some local color.
Unlike the big chain steak houses, the dinners here include salad and sides, putting folks in a good mood even before they've sipped their bourbon cocktails. Aged steaks are butter-knife tender and veggies are delicious. Lima beans are soft and salty. The potatoes are baked to perfection with a pool of butter swimming inside their soft brown skins. Not a beef eater? The fried chicken has a wonderful crisp coating without a trace of grease to speak of.
Absolutly Perfect – Huge great steaks, cool old town atmosphere, everything is al carte. Be careful they don't take any credit cards....
Not sizzling hot! – Ho-hum steak for a nose-bleed price. Bad place for a health minded date, even the broiled fish came submerged (litterally) in a pool of butter.
