****ALERT*** Please spend your money else where. – My sister is getting married this year, and the 1st appointment she had, they gave it to someone else, after waiting for an HOUR they said Oops Sorry, and gave us another appointment. WOW! Great service don’t you think. So, we went to the second appointment and tried on several dresses, but the ONE dress that my sister truly wanted they said that you can only purchase it down south. Which we found out they were LYING! We went to Milpitas and be hold the dress was right in front when you walk through the doors. WOW!, strike one, and when we called the Mgr in Steven Creek store all they can say is “I’m Sorry”. My sister already order her dress, which they messed up AGAIN ordered a BIGGER size, and said if my sister wants to reorder the dress it will take up to 4-6 weeks!... Ahhhhhh. (pulling hair) strike two.
Not only had they messed up on the bride’s dress they also messed up on the bridesmaids dresses. When it was time to pick up the dresses they were unable to locate them, putting back my daughters dress, and saying that I was late on picking it up. David’s Bridal SUCKS! They are only there for your money but not after that. The customer services is bad, come on now, the Bride is getting her dress altered and they lady say’s use 2 sided tape… WTH!
So ladies, just an FYI try to go some where else, before you go to this store.
Not as bad as I was expecting – I went up here with about 8 dresses that I wanted to try on, a few of which were on sale. I waited around for a little bit before someone helped me (I had an appointment, and I think they usually require this). The lady that helped me, Selam (I think that's how it's spelled) was very nice and looked up all the dresses I wanted.
It took awhile to get stuff tried on because she was helping 2 other people at the same time. Apparently someone called in sick at the last minute.
I only got around to trying on about 4 of the dresses I chose. I liked the fourth one a lot, but felt too rushed to try on the others. I told her we had some other places to go and she said she would remember the dress I wanted and to just call by 5 if I wanted to order it. It was on sale and that was the last day of the sale, so I had to decide that day.
I ended up finding something else, but it was nice having her help me. I would suggest to others that might go there to make sure that you are assertive and that you try on everything you want to try on until you find what you want. Selam said if I find something somewhere else that is "the one", to go for it.
Make sure you make an appointment beforehand...otherwise, you won't get to try anything on! – Our experience with David's Bridal started out a little rocky. We drove almost 3 hours to meet my cousin there to find her perfect wedding dress. While my mom and I were waiting for my cousin and aunt to arrive, we browsed the dresses and took a couple in our arms for my cousin to try on. We were reprimanded for pulling the dresses by a very snooty employee, apparently, only consultants can do that. We were also informed that without an appointment, we wouldn't be able to try on dresses...they were going to send us away, even after driving such a long distance just for that store! They ended up having a cancellation, so luckily, we got that time slot, about an hour later. We went to Henson's Bridal down the street to pass the time. Coming back to David's Bridal at our appointment time, the snooty woman turned friendly, but seemed very fake. My cousin was assigned a very cute, nicely dressed consultant named Carly. She was really open to what my cousin was looking for. She was easy to talk to and we liked her, but my cousin decided on a gorgeous dress at Henson's at the end of the day. David's Bridal dress prices seemed reasonable, my cousin's budget was at $500 and she had lots of selection at that price point.
I would recommend David's Bridal overall because they seem to have great selection and the store was clean, along with the dresses, despite the above reviews. Also, the store has the dresses organized by sizes, so it is easy to find a size that will better fit you, making it easier to see how the dress will really fit. I wear a size 2, so it was nice to have 2's and 4's to try on for bridesmaid dresses rather than size 10's or 12's which will clearly be too big to see how the dress really fits. Overall a good experience, thanks to Carly.
I have also been to the David's Bridal in Modesto, CA. That experience was much more fun and easy going. We didn't have an appointment, but it didn't appear to be a big deal...depends on the store?
What a JOKE! – I went there with my two best friends for them to try on bridesmaid dresses. They had a great experience. The consultants that work with bridesmaid are fantastic. She even let me try on a couple even though she wasn't supposed to.
And then came my official turn to try dresses on a different day. It was like going to a completely different store. I was met at the door and forced to fill out this in depth form. The only thing they didnt ask was my social sec number.
Then came my consultant who was ticked at me for not knowing what I want and not having pictures. Pardon me for just wanting to look at them in person and not relying on women in magazines who look nothing like me to chose my dress. I told the woman what I wanted and she immediately turned on me. I guess asking for non bridal satin or a corset back is imossible. She huffed and puffed flinging dresses around ticked off at my request. She didnt listen to anything I asked for. I was given filthy dresses nothing remotely close to what I said I wanted to try on. I was subjected to snide remarks about being demanding and she kept calling me "sweety" like I was a two year old. She was helping 3 brides at once. I aksed to try on something without all the petticoats she immediately told me I had to wear. "Oh those wont look good on someone of your size.. Meanwhile the bride next to me was wearing a beautiful fitted dress with NO petticoats. So apprently making me look like a gigantic tent makes me look better. Its a shame that the bridal industry treats brides so terribly.
This Place is Disgusting – I was honestly afraid I would get a disease from trying on the dresses in this store. They were dirty and soiled. The woman who helped me didn't listen to a word I said about what I wanted. She even shoved a veil in my hair after I clearly told her I wasn't planning on wearing a veil. Shopping at David's was the worst experience I have ever had in a store, EVER!
if you can spend $300-800 then this is the place – the selection was great, the service was delightful, and the dresses were of wonderful quality, the accessories were overpriced but the dresses were very affordable and the atmosphere was very friendly and tastefully designed. it was like a huge Hollywood boutique, without the ridiculous price tags. just dont go there for bridesmaids dresses or mother-of-the-bride dresses, they are way over priced and theres not a big in-store selection.
