Good for a glass of wine but stay clear the grub... – While this is a beautiful establishment with all the right tools to enjoy a nice relaxing glass of wine with friends. Our meal was plagued with poor food handling and an obvious lack of experience from the chef.

We started with the Mussels. The menu boasts of Prince Edward Island Mussels in a fennel, tomato, and vermouth broth but not only was the broth lacking of any flavor, it literally tasted like the tap water the mussels were boiled in. The mussels were far from ?Princely? and lacked any kind of remnant ?sea? flavor.

The Charcuterie plate was boring and the ?toast points? were very stale. The Beef Carpaccio, was sliced perfectly, but unfortunately the chef drowned the beef in the whole grain mustard and horseradish aioli so that we could not taste the beef at all. We decided to continue even though we had been disappointed up to this point. We ordered the Tuna Tartar. The tuna was far past prime quality and was mushy as if it had been sitting for days. The ?relish? was boring and again? yes, the ?toast? was stale. Then came the clincher. A Blue Cheese plate with Honeycomb, almonds and baguette. What sounded like a marriage made in heaven was actually a disaster made just for us. The Blue Cheese was ripened beyond not only the suggested sell by date, but definitely the EAT by date. It appeared the chef did not know how to extract the honey comb from its protective carrier as what was delivered on the plate was a gooey puddle with a smidgen of comb and last and the most offensive, the garnish. Why would that matter you ask? Well, in my career I have always been told, if you can?t eat it, don?t use it as a garnish. The chef managed to decorate the cheese plate with what seemed to be the dirtiest leaf from the lemon tree. Even by the candlelight, I could see that the leaf had a muddy dribble all the way down it and to top it off, the baguette was stale, again.

No worries. I will still go for the wine!

Chic and classy – This is a great place. Ambiance is great, food is great, service is great and the wine, of course, is amazing. You sit on high chairs at pub tables and order small plates to go with your wine. They have a trendy array of antipasti including the usual cheese and olive plates. The desserts are delicious too. Pretty much everything is conducive to sharing. Four of us went and we all picked off each other's plates. It was great fun; we all felt quite urban and sophisticated. It's definitely spendy though, so don't go there if you're looking for a full meal. It's more of a drinks and appetizer kind of thing. Great place to hang out while waiting for your table at Zocalo, or head here for dessert and drinks after dining elsewhere.
