Value City is a BIG FAT ZERO on my rating scale. This is the worst furniture buying experience I have ever had!!!!!! I bought a living room suit from the store on Nicholasville but had to come to this store for the pick-up. We live 3 hours away, therefore the delivery price wasn't reasonable. One week ago (Thursday, April 10th) someone left a message on my answering machine that our furniture is ready for pick-up. I called the store and scheduled a pick-up for Saturday, April 19th. Then, on April 17th we had an opportunity to go for the furniture. I called the store the morning of the 17th at which time noone gave me any information other than to pull to the back of the building for customer pick-up. So, I drove 3 hours to get there only to find out that my furniture was not there. IT HAD BEEN GIVEN TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!!!!!! Needless to say I was irrate. I demanded a refund and I think it a shame no effort was made on their behalf to pay for the $75 gas bill after having pulled a trailer for 3 hours one way (for a grand total of $150 for an empty trailer). The staff at Value City showed no care at all. They really did not care about me as a customer that had spent more than $1400 with them. I left Value City and went straight up the street to Ashley Furniture and bought my furniture. I will NEVER buy from Value City again. Further more, I will tell everyone I know of this occurrence and recommend them find somewhere else to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #worstexperienceever
HORRIBLE – The Value City in Hamburg has some of the most horrible customer service I have ever had to deal with. The Store manager, Mike or Mark can't remember his name, didn't have the common courtesy to even talk to me about his delivery crew trying to use bolts that never came with the Kitchen table I ordered and in the process busted the wood. The warehouse manager, a Lady named Lisa is a complete oxygen thief. I honestly think they were only trying to meet a quota when hiring her. Her idea of trying to fix the problem of the delivery crew was nothing more than telling me "Accidents Happen". No they don't happen when your workers use the right equipment that comes with the item a customer has purchased. Please save yourself the trouble and don't settle for the cheap junk sold at Value City, pay the extra money and go somewhere that has employees that actually have a clue about what they are doing.
Extremely disappointed. – It all started with the idea of getting a couch during the labor day weekend. We headed to the store and there was this salesman who was following us around pretending not to do so.They had a good collection. We decided on getting one sofa which we absolutely loved. We payed using a credit card. The delivery was scheduled to four days from the date of purchase. When the delivery guy got the couch on the d day, he got all the pillows first and then got the couch to the door.We live on the first floor of the apartment building. He just put the couch at the door and shows me how tall the couch is and tells me he cannot get it into the apartment.I offered to get the neighbours door open ,that is the door right opposite to our apartment.I know for a fact that he could have got the sofa in by tilting it at an angle. We earlier had a sofa of the same size and we had to do a similar thing to get it in and out of the apartment. So he took the sofa back and asked us to come by the shop and ask for a refund. We went back to the shop and spoke to the same sales man about the delivery not being done properly. He went to the back of the store and got the delivery man to speak to us. When we told him a way to get the sofa in he said he doesnt care and will try to deliver it again the next day after 6 in the evening. He did not turn up for the delivery the next day and when we went back to the store next day for the refund they offered to take some money off on the sofa and offered same day delivery. We just asked for a refund cos by then we were seriously fed up with the attitude of the people in the store. They need to learn how to keep up commitments with customers and their callous approach to the whole process was very annoying.I do not think I would ever buy anything else there or suggest the store to anyone else. You are better off going to the IKEA in the next town and making a purchase there.
