Good food, annoying waitress – I went to this Red Robin for my 21st birthday, with my boyfriend, his brother, and my best friend. My boyfriend has a really awful ID, so the waitress wasn't able to take it - which is fine by me...if taking the ID means losing her job, then I don't mind if that's what she needs to do. But, what bothered me the most is that she lectured my boyfriend on what would happen if she took the ID - my boyfriend is a bartender and explained to her that he knew the rules of OLCC, and understood. Basically, he was telling her to move on, and take our orders already. She continued to lecture him on it, then told him he needed to get a new ID. Then, because it was my 21st birthday, she treated me and my friend who had valid photo ID as if we were guilty, and talked about us to her manager. The rest of the meal was very tense.
When I got my clucks 'n fries, I literally got THREE fries. THREE! Everybody else had a whole stack of them. She stopped serving us, and had somebody else bring us the food...obviously because she was a bitch and was embarassed because of it.
Thumb sized bug in lettuce wrap – This is my first review. I usually do not bother with informing anyone of my experiences, but this one I have to share that occurred 12-19-2009 at noon at the 12530 Southeast 93rd Avenue, Clackamas, OR location...
I had ordered the chicken BBQ wrap and after eating the first half I took a bite into the second half and noticed a piece of lettuce looked gray. Being the picky eater I am I tried to pull it out and noticed what appeared to be a stink bug that was about 3/4 of an inch in size (I'm not an entomologist, that is just my guess as to what it was). My profile picture is the shape and color of the bug I pulled out of the lettuce wrap.
I would not wish this experience on anyone including those I do not like. The only explanation for this that I can think of is that the person making my food put it inside the wrap before serving it to me (it was simply too big to miss visually). This is not the kind of "service" or "dining experience" I'll ever try again.
To the person who got Onion ring sauce spilt on them.... – I don't know that you could possibly be more ignorant regarding dining out. It is not the servers job to bring the food to you. They have expediters hired specifically for that. And in any case, why is it important WHO brings your food to you, as long as you get it? Red robin is an awesome place to eat, and the staff is always AMAZING. If you don't tell a server that anything is wrong with their food, there's nothing they can do to fix it for you. They don't make the food, and they don't take bites of it to "quality check" it it before it hits your table. You deserved that nasty burger. You can send food back without causing a scene! So nut up, support your community, and don't ever threaten to stiff a server just because you decided not to have a good time.
Horrible restaurant best to avoid anytime. – Me and my grandaughter (age 16) and her friend (age 18) went to Red Robin in Clackamas last night for dinner. The waitress was friendly enough upon arrival, brought us drinks, but when she brought the onion ring appetizer she dropped it on the floor by me and dip and rings were all over the floor and got on my jacket and purse. She cleaned it up and got us another appetizer, but never offered to clean my jacket and purse. For the rest of the evening she pretty well decided to ignore us and "chat" with her friends at the front of the restaurant. Someone else brought us out our food. I had the bacon, guacolomole burger, it was terrible. McDonald's puts out fresher food. The bun was stale and falling apart, meat bland, bacon not cooked. Fries were fairly good, although most of them were broken. Do you not put silverware on the tables?? I asked for some, but never was brought any, my granddaughter did get a fork for her pasta. No extra napkins, even though most of them were used to clean up the previous spill. Our table was a mess and empty plates, empty glasses were never taken off, no room to eat.
Needless to say we will never return, but I doubt if you care, just thought you would like to know. I'm just sorry I paid the bill, but I'm not comfortable making a fuss in public. My money will be spent elsewhere from now on.
The only one we weren't thrilled with – We love Red Robin. They have a solid core of their best stuff with lots of options (burgers and fries), plus a wide enough range of other options that it stays fresh and you don't get stuck in a rut. Service is usually great, too, and the atmosphere is fun for all ages. But this location really misses something. We were seated promptly, not quite ready to order beverages the first time our server came, so we waited almost 20 minutes until we finally stopped a manager who had passed us several times but never even noticed we weren't served. Food came all at once (appetizers and entrees) so we had to decide which one to let get cold. Drink refills were slow in coming and we felt like we were in the way.
