Happy hour is the way to go – I get the concern about the portion sizes. I say, go during happy hour. You can try a few things in small portions. You are able to have the tasty and decadent food without the overwhelming portions. Face it, the food is really tasty and sometimes you just want it, so be wise about it. If you miss happy hour, split the plate with a friend and share a dessert with the whole table. Life is too short to deprive yourself.

It is always consistent and always great service.

Great Food – Since I came to the U.S I have gone to many restaurants. Some of them are good and some not that much. However, I remember one day I went with my friends to Cheesecake Factory restaurant. It was very good.

They have Italian and American food. I think they have a special flavor that you can taste only in this restaurant. Actually, I went their four times, three in Oklahoma City and one in Portland and I found the taste is different in Oklahoma City, better than in Portland. They make the dishes as you like. If you do not like them, they change it for you. As I said they have a special flavor. Sometimes the taste is unique, but you will like it. They are perfect in the desserts. They have many flavors of cake and ice cream.

Unfortunately, the atmosphere in Cheesecake Factory is too crowded and noisy. You should wait before go to your table for 10 minutes. I think booking a table is the best way to avoid of the crowd. The location from outside has beautiful decor, but inside the restaurant is normal. Also, you can sit outsidet, which has a nice view and isn't noisy. It?s easy to find this restaurant because it?s close to Washington Square.

The service is not much because of the crowd. The waiters serve many customers, so the food takes a long time. However, the waiters are friendly and they give you a good recommendation about the food.

Finally, the price is reasonable for some dishes, but the seafood is more expensive than other restaurants. Sometimes they have good offers such as free dessert or take off 10% from your bill.

In conclusion, Cheesecake Factory is good selection for many people. They have good food, service, location and price. Think of the advantages more than the disadvantages, because it?s difficult to satisfy of the people.

I worked there, you should eat somewhere else. – I worked there and let me tell you that just because the food is good, the menu is huge and the servers are nice does not make it a place people should go to. The portions are ridiculous and the amount of food thrown away is enough to feed Africa forever. They do not recycle anything, the managment treats the servers like and they use the most fattening foods available to provide the great flavor. I worked there for two years and trust me and stopped eating there once I figured out the truth. They waste so much, the wait is so long and it feels a lot like a zoo when you go in there. Eat better!! Don't support this kind of waste!!

Too Much Nonsense – This place is notorious for being super busy, huge portions and a huge menu. What some people don't mention are the LONG waits to get a table, the speech a server gives even before you have settled into your seat, the long wait to get your food (assuming they put the order in) and the kids screaming in your ear. Honestly the food was quite good but I couldn't wait to get out of there. I also think Cheesecake Factory should be more concious about portion control and nutrition value. No normal person should be eating most of the things on their menu....too much food/too many calories. I met a cook from there who told me their Navajo Sandwich has over 50 grams of fat and 3500 calories. And to hold the mayo and order a diet coke doesn't make it healthy folks.

Fantastic Service – What is there not to like about the Cheese Cake Factory. First of all the menu is the size of a book. If you want chinese, italian, thai, american you name it and they have it. Also the last time I went for my mothers birthday we had the best service. As a server myself I know what good service is and no when it is loosy. Believe me if you want to go to a place with fantastic service and food go to the cheesecake factory. And that lady from Phily get a life. Acting like because you are from philadelphia you know obviously know what is and isn't cheesecake. The cheesecake we had was superb.

Be prepared for a loooong experience – I've been to the one in Washington square twice. Once for a birthday dinner for a friend that even though we had reservations for, called in hours in advance, etc etc, there was still an hour wait for a large party (with no where to stand out of the way for this wait) . The food was good, if simple for all the fuss and waiting. Once I went for lunch with my sister. We got there early, when they first opened, so there was no wait. However, lunch itself took 2 hours (in the middle of the week). It's a decent place, and the desserts are good, but you can get the same quality of food and better quality of service for a lot less time. And time is money.

Kids' favorite place! – Yes, as you know, you have to wait for 30 to 40 min to be seated. But the server we had was very very nice to kids. Also, Thai Wrap was a great appetizer! I can eat it as an entree.

Not an enjoyable experience – I went to Cheesecake Factory for my birthday but was disappointed in the experience. We went on a weeknight but had to wait over an hour for our table. Once seated in the overly crowded and noisy restaurant, we ordered drinks at later entrees which came a half hour later. I ordered a cheesecake to use as my birthday cake. It was so small that I couldn't even fit candles on it! The price was way too high for regular Sandwiches and fries. My mother paid over $10 for a salad! The cheesecake was average tasting, considering the whole restaurant is named after it. I wouldn't recommend going here at all.

if they can't even get original, plain cheesecake right... – so after hearing rave reviews about cheesecake factory, i had the chance to go with a friend...

it's a good thing it's in a mall because we needed something to do for the 40+ minute wait...

all we went for was dessert, the gal serving us wasn't even supposed to be serving us, and they sat us by the door in the bar and we got blasted with cold air everytime someone came or went...

perhaps they are conserving energy, but the entire place was dimly lit, which could have been romantic except for the loud resonance of hundreds of conversations echoing off the high ceilings...

i ordered the original cheesecake, with the sour cream topping scraped off...sour cream does not go on cheesecake...

it was pudding-esque and mushy...cheesecake is dense and rich...this was pie filling and crust...

i'm from philly...this is not cheescake...

i tasted the fancy turtle something-or-other...it tasted like cheap shari's pie...for 6.50...i could get a whole shari's pie for 6.50 and eat it in the comfort and warmth of my own home...

i'll pass...

Good food, ok service, way over crowded – They have a huge menu with huge American sized portions. You definitely get your money's worth and can probably take home leftovers. Service can be very slow w/ servers that have an attitude. We have had to wait every single time we have gone but the food is worth it. Portland needs to get the hint and get at least one more built to take off some of the burden. Don't go too hungry though because you may have to wait an hour until you sit down...
