I went to fandango for the first time a few weeks ago and was accused of being a prostitute (because i was conversating with a few gents that were at the taco truck that is parked in the lot) I was declined to come in because of this, so i went to the taco truck to get dinner before i found somewhere else to party, while waiting for my food i noticed a white male in his early 20s being stoped by the door man, when it was over i asked what that was all about he said i was accused of trying to sale coke... WTF... so if you're white dont even try to come in this place
let minors enter to the back – I have seen minors enter to the back door. my friends have entered by the back door and they are minors. The owner charges $20 to let them in.
Racist against black people – I went with my fiance to dance here and they said we were not allowed to enter. My fiance is black and they said that we were probobly coming just to cause problems. They started looking at my fiance from head to toe. He asked them why we couldnt enter and they said that it was a MEXICAN dance club only. We decided to leave and as we were exiting the front door I heard them laughing and saying words like, "Why is she with a N__?"
horrible and racist – so I guess if you are white dont go there I was so discriminated. I was told to get up and step out side by some dude that works there and some mexican lady. they pulled me out to tell me I was acused of selling drugs! I asked why and how they said I was in the bathroom texting and looked suspicious. do you know how many mexican girls where up in the bathroom texting? alot! but noooo I guess the had to pull the skinny white girl and blame me. i am not even fully white I am half mexican allso. never in my life have i ever felt so bad I just started crying. how is texting in the bathroom make me suspicious of selling drugs? he said well thats what we where told. no one told them nothing because when i was in the bathroom that mexican lady was in there looking at me so it was obviously her that acused me of it. then and there i told them to check my bag check my coat check every thing but they refused he said I could call the cops and have them check you and I said go ahead call them right now. but again he refused. I told them I just had a baby I dont even do drugs. that was mine and my bfs first time going out and enjoying a night together without the baby and her racist self had to ruin it. I am so upset. Never will i go there again and I dont recomend people of other races to go either they will blame the drugs on you! sad but true.
p.s he told me if i see some one in the bathroom texting or scrathing their nose i will pull them out to have a talk with them... seriously? get a life!
great Mexican food and good service – Service was quick, food was presented well and the salsa was just spicy enough. It helped that I was dining at 2.30pm on a Sunday; very few other customers were in the place. It appears that there might be dancing in the evening, as there is a substantial open area near the bar.
Horrible service – This place has been closed down for a while, I just found out it's changed management or something. Anyways, I work really close by and have been here a few times. This has been my second time there since it open and it was just a HORRIBLE eperience. The only good thing about it was the margarita, chips and salsa. It took our waitress 10 minutes to take our orders after we got out drinks, then when she made our guacamole she had mistaken cottage cheese for sour cream! WTF?! Our food took forever to come out and there was barely anyone in there. We had the chicken fajita and it was tasteless! Never going there again.
Under new management, Great Experience – I have to say finding this place for my wife and I was an accident. We passed by Fandango on our way to try out Maya's up the street on Stark. Didn't even try to go into Maya's it looked like it was hidden in a grocery store converted into flea market. So I suggested we try Fandango back down the street. When we got there we notice the signs mentioned under new management and new menus. The Mexican food style was one we had not heard of before, but it seemed much more seafood centered. We went on a Thursday night and things were a bit slow, that was ok with us. It was very clean inside, it even smelled clean. There was a dance floor and a stage, and it indicated it was a night club. We're suspecting that was more of a Weekend thing.
When we were seated, we were given the expected chips and salsa. Just the right amount of heat and flavor, not too hot, but enough to add a kick. The chips were good too.
The menu was a bit daunting, in my opinion too many options. Anyhow, my wife ordered a Shrimp Burrito and I ordered a Chicken Burrito and an octopus and shrimp tostada. As we waited we got to try their shrimp soup compliments of the new management. Yummy!
The meals didn't take too long at all to get to us. There was plenty of octopus and shrimp on my tostada, there was also plenty of cucumber too. It was served cold with some kind of gaspacho sauce over it. I personally liked it.
The burritos came with a small salad. The burritos were in my opinion the perfect size not so giant that you can pick it up but big enough to make two meals for a conservative eater. The taste was totally authentic. There was potatoes in it too. The flavor was great. The waiter was very friendly and I was able to customize my order asking for no tomatoes or onions. The total was only $25! Definitely got our monies worth.
We'll be going back again, and well see how things go with our kids with us. Ages 3, 5 and 7 that will be the test.
Avoid at all cost! – I went there with a client for lunch. The service was slow, my water glass was dirty when I asked for a new one it was dirty too. Once we received our lunch it was horrible. I felt the entire place wasnt clean. I will never go there again.
My new favorite! – This restaurant has delicious food, friendly service, a broad menu, and a clean atmosphere. They have live music, and feature a huge seafood menu if you like coastal Mexican food. They served me the best crab enchiladas I've ever had.
I was put off at first, because the parking lot always seems so empty, but I'm so glad I dropped in. Excellent!
Bland - Even for a whitey such as myself. – Friends often joke that I've eaten at every mexican joint in town - so as soon as the "Now Open" banner appeared on this colorful building near my office, I was there.
I was dissapointed.
The menu is extensive, and the salsa served with the chips is quite tasty, but thats where the good times stop. I tried this place twice, and each time my entree was bland, and underheated. Water glasses went unfilled the entire meal, and when it was all said and done, the lunch bill for two came to $22. About twice what it was worth if you ask me.
