I love this shop! My hair stylist, Alicia, is the bomb. She always does my hair excellent and is very concerned with the health of my hair. If I ask for something that she is not comfortable with, she will research it to always make sure the health of my hair is not compromised in any way.
The #1 reason that I go every 2 weeks, is that I have been to numorous beauty salons here in Portland and I have never seen a stylist sanitize the sink, chair, or anything that a prior client has used. At Platinum Black Salon, EVERYTHING is SANITIZED!!!
WOW!! – When I go to this shop I am welcome and respected. The ladies there spend more time into haircare and the Products that they use. Hell all of them got their own hair!!!
Now what I dont like is to go to some Bald headed stylist in a new salon.
I like the way its all about hair!! When I walk in clean I leave clean + a new hairdo. So not sure what NASTY yall talking about? When half of us know that the biggest hater is the #1 NASTY person on this planet.
So if u tired of buying weaves getting jealous when u see another sister walk pass you with a head full of HEALTHY hair and you really want to grow what your momma or daddy gave you go to this shop. The ladies here mean Hair HAIR HAIR.
On that note My hair pass my shoulders and Im loving it at the same time if your attitude is nasty stay away they dont need your stress its alllll HAIR!!!
NEED A MAJOR UPGRADE – Lets not talk about how this salon needs to be upgraded especially the so called Nail shop, I sat there and watched there Nail tech load water to and from a microwave just to keep the pedicure water hot, that really disgusted me, and on top of that it smelled like the carpet was mildewed. Black folks always talking about the Asians, but they have it together, i would rather go to them than sit up and look at that mess , its horrible!! I wanna go somewhere where i am comfortable and its clean, i asked to use the restroom and can you say that there was Junk stacked all over the place , i couldnt even get through to use there restroom, i changed my mind and left it was so nasty back there!! Overall i had a real bad experiance at this shop and i will never go again. Please Upgrade!!!!
good salson – i've been going to platinum black salon for about 3years now i had not 1 problem there my hair is beautiful long healthy i even recommended for my family to go there we get our nails and hair done every 2weeks my husband even get his hair cute by the barber i feel really bad about some of the reviews ive seen maybe it wasnt tisha maybe it was the client being rude because ive always seen all the stylist in there and i can say its much love and respect in platinum black salon i have never had a issue or even seen a fight there i think the platinum black salon is a marvelous salon. i think one monkey does not stop the show dont put someones business under the bus to get ran over because of and altercation just go back to where you came from because my family can say this salon is very unique and majority of the clients that have been to platinum black salon and my family enjoys platinum black salon with no issues maybe the clients that visited platinum black has the PROBLEMS since they are the only ones just some food for your thoughts
Rude for no reason – I agree I have went to this salon to inquire about some prices and that lady Tisha was there and was very rude and had an attuide like she did not want to help me. If she is working there I would not go there who wants to be around someone with a negative attuide and just naturally rude. Even though the employees may do good air her personality make it BAD for the company!!!!! The owner should really do a customer service check before hiring people like that. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP IF THERE IS A LADY NAMED TISHA!!!!!!!!
There Was Never An Apology – I went in to this salon with the intention of getting a hairdo and ended up almost getting into a fight with a stylist! Can you believe this? Her name was LaTisha and she was definitely Ghetto, argumentative, unprofessional, disrespectful and shameful!! On top of everything, I was in with my 17 year old daughter. Can you imagine the example of two black women engaging in this type of an exchange? She called me out to fight and I still don't understand why. She was talking about me in front of the entire salon (she thought that I had left, however I was on the other side of the wall sitting down waiting for my hubby to come and retrieve us) and i stood and asked her why she would do such a thing. I think at that point, she was a little shocked to see me and instead of retreating and being humble and accepting responsibility for being unprofessional, she became embarassed and aggressive. She totally looked like a fool! I am a retired Naval Veteran and have done nothing but good for others. I did not deserve this and especially this type of treatment in front of my child. Latisha is a fool- a ghetto fool and that's just the way it is. The truth is just the truth. To avoid any kind of drama or possibility of an incident, go somewhere else. I found an awesome stylist and have been a pleased client and you can too! Go somewhere else! Portland is full of awesome shops and stylist, without the threat of a stylist going postal on you. Don't risk it. And once again, for the record, I never received an apology :-(
