Horrible service! – They get one star based on horrible service alone. The manager wanted to argue with me about a, buy one get one free, coupon that is on their web site. I even attempted to show it to him from my phone and he still proceeded to argue with me. I'm glad I didn't get the food I ordered. I'm sure it was as good as the service.
Wonderful value and service – Just try it. My husband and I drove by a millions times before we tried this place, there is a plastic cow sitting outside on a bench after all. The food is wonderful, fast and attentive service, and wonderful margaritas - with a great tequila service. Time your visit right and you will even get live music moving table to table. In addition, if you go on the website for this restaurant, you get a 2 for 1 coupon. This place must be family owned because the quality and the service speak of the pride of the owners. Try it!
BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT EVER IT IS HEAVEN!!!!!!!! – I just want to let you know that casa colima mex. restaurant is great. It is just like moms old recipes. i love the food there it is just perfect. like when i ordered the fajitas, they were smolking hot literaly clouds of sizzleing sauce (coolest thing to watch) and the waiter who brought it had a smile on his face. I am pretty sure that all the waiters are like that, as in be happy to work in heaven, oh and that. remindes me when you go ther get the dessert and ask for the sopaillas. ;P
And i think that at casa colima everyone is my family so yeah i highly suggest that you try casa colima, it is like a unbelivible dream.
and remember to always keep in mind that whenever you need a slice a heaven to go to casa colima!!
Consistently good fare. Great sopapillas. – One of the better Mexican restaurants. The service is friendly. Margaritas are a little weak, so BYO tequila to buck them up a bit. Their sopapillas are the best we have found in all of Portland.
Delicious, flavorful food; Large portions; Plenty of space for large groups – We went to Casa Colima with a group of about 15 people, and we ordered the Taquitos for an appetizer and I ordered some Chicken Tortilla Soup for dinner. The Taquitos didn't arrive as soon as we had expected them to, but when they came, they were delicious and big! They weren't like the skinny little ones you buy in a box at the store. They were big and flaky and full of lots of yummy stuff. And the soup was wonderful. It had lots of cooked onions and tomatoes and lots of big chunks of chicken. It was very tasty. We were very happy with the food. The only thing that could have made it a perfect experience would have been getting our appetizer sooner. We'd go again.
consistent authentic mexican – My family and I go to this restaurant frequently, and we have never been disappointed. The service is always friendly, and the food is ALWAYS good. I have the tendency to order the same thing at restaurants we go to often, but at Casa, I always order something different, because I know it will be of high quality and very tasty. If you haven't been there, check it out.
Good food, huge portions, great prices – Great place. We are always immediately seated. In addition to fresh chips and salsa they serve some delicious bean dip. They have a huge menu, some dishes I've liked more than others, but I've never had a bad meal. Just find what you like. The best part, servings are massive and cheap. They frequently provide complementary dessert pastries and service is always friendly and prompt. Don't expect anything fancy, just solid food at an excellent price.
Best Mango-ritas around! – THEIR MANGO MARGARITAS ROCK!!!! And...just go for it and get at least the medium sized drink. I thought the food was average but fit what I was expecting. I did not walk away hungry that's for sure. The customer service was very friendly and my friend and I enjoyed their outdoor seating area for happy hour one nice afternoon. I've been craving that damn margarita ever since. It was so refreshing and the texture was excellent.
Have had two bad experiences with this restaurant. Will not return, very poor service. – My first time eating at this location, we ordered a drink from the drink section on the dinner menu (Sangria). We received the drink and bill only to find that the bill reflected a much more expensive Sangria from the drink menu. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he blew us off with some excuse and we had to pay the higher price even though it was clearly listed differently on two menus. We then ordered the fried ice cream which, to our surprise, was a ball of vanilla ice cream rolled in frosted flakes. The flakes were soggy having absorbed moisture from the ice cream hours if not days prior and the menu should have some explanation of what you are actually getting. I live in Hillsdale so it would be nice to have a nice Mexican restaurant here, so I attributed this meal to a bad night and wanted to try it again. My second experience with this restaurant was on a Sunday evening at 8:50. The menu online says they are open on Sunday until 10:00. I called to place an order when I was told to hold while the person answering the phone checked to see if they were still open. Upon returning he said the kitchen was closed. I asked him what the hours were and he told me 9:00, I told him what the website said and he let me know that it was slow so they closed early!!! So not only did he tell me they were closed 10 minutes before his personal closing time, but also that he lied to me about what the restaurant closing time is!!! I have spoken to many people in the Hillsdale area who have also had bad experiences at this location, the quote I remember is "if you like good service and good food, try someplace else."
Good music, Good bean dip! – On certain nights, there's live music. Call for times. I consider this a bonus, but others may want to sit in another part of the restaurant if it's too loud. The service is always good here. I rate it average, though, because of the food. It's a great value, but some of the selections are no good. For instance, don't get the spinach enchiladas. The margaritas don't have enought alcohol, and I feel sorry for the poor sole who orders a large margarita...They are meant for several people. The chips and dip are usually good and not stale. Bean dip is a nice change from the usual salsa and is included with your chips as you sit down. I recommend the combination dinners because they allow you to order to your tastes.
