Horrible Establishment – The place is a great place to go to if you want to be PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED by a patron who was served way too much alcohol! On Wednesday, August 31, 2011, I and 5 colleagues came to NYC from Boston to see the Nate Berkus Show. After attending the show, we decided to have dinner here before we left the city. We sat outside of the restaurant and ordered some appetizers and drinks. While trying to enjoy our dinner, a woman who was sitting behind us began harassing two of my co-workers for no apparent reason. Within a matter of 10 minutes her harassment escalated to verbally assaulting my two co-workers. When the two gentlemen that were with her tried to have her leave she became even more aggressive. We went to tell the wait-staff what was going on and they seemed not to care at all that we as paying customers where being verbally assaulted on their property. When the gentlemen had gotten the intoxicated girl half way down the block we thought everything was done. However, the intoxicated girl broke free from the gentlemen and ran back and threw her keys at our table spilling our drinks and food all over the place. The intoxicated girl then proceeded to punch one of my co-workers in the head and then scratched her on her forehead. Meanwhile, no wait staff came out to assist with the situation and when asked to speak to the manager, we were told there was no manager on duty. This was the worst dinner ever and I am still shocked that the establishment did nothing to try to calm the situation. The intoxicated girl was not even asked to leave. Obviously, the bartender was not monitoring her appropriately like a bartender is suppose to do. He continued to allow her to consume more and more alcohol. This was the worst experience ever at a restaurant. The establishment should definitely learn how to handle situations like this. I would never even take an enemy of mine to this establishment!!!! COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
Neighborhood Feel with Happy Hour snacks – Jake's on 10th Ave is my neighborhood bar. Come in enough times, meet the regulars and you'll always have someone to chat with. Happy hour specials include $4 Jake's Tricky Ales and $6 cosmos. Perhaps the best aspect of happy hour is the free food. The munchables have included outstanding Shepard's pie, buffalo wings, quesadillas and nachos. Plenty of TV screens around if you're trying to catch a game. The only drawback is that if you don't live in the neighborhood it's 2 avenues away from the closest subway.
cosey place – nice bar great atmosphere amd cool bartenders.
Cool Spot – Cool spot! Happened on it after a concert @ Terminal5. Nice, "neighborhoody," feel to it. If I lived closer it would prob be my hangout cuz they have a bunch of tv's and I could catch the Knicks.
Worth checkin out.
Top-notch burgers too!
