Great Summer dinner – Definitely enjoyed our dinner at Satterfield's. The waitress helped me pick out a great Sancerre and described it perfectly. Our "Coddled Egg" appetizer was excellent, and I would definitely recommend ordering it-just ignore the name. The egg yolk cooks the crawfish and vegetables. Well spiced and tasty-also not as heavy as I would have expected. My Escolar entree was perfect. It was cooked perfectly and the accompanying vegetables made for light, summery dish. My companion was pleased with the bacon-wrapped scallops. Definitely a man dish. He had the pear tart for dessert and I ordered bananas foster crepes. The setting was nice-cozy without feeling like you were sitting in the laps of the people at the next table. The noise level was nice-not too loud but bustling and happy. I would definitely recommend this-Satterfield's stands up to Ocean, Hot & Hot, and Daniel George and forms its own identity in a city filled with great restaurants. DON'T MISS DESSERT! One of the owner's is a pastry chef and the menu is to die for! Everything sounded amazing!
Probably the best hidden gem in the area! – Satterfields hasn't been on the dining scene in Birmingham except for a couple of years, but in that short time has proven itself to be amongst the best in the area. Located in Cahaba Heights, it truly is a hidden gem to many.
The creations of executive chef Haller Magee are simply stunning. Using fresh ingredients, Haller and his team come up with some truly remarkable dishes. While the menu changes daily, there are some dishes that show up repeatedly as well as some creations that you might never see again.
Owner Becky Satterfield's dessert creations are simply outstanding.
The wine list is impressive, offering a wide range of choices both mainstream and off-beat. Also, one night a week (Thursday I believe) all wines on the menu are available by the glass! The bar service is led by head bartender Sean Nixon, who is always quick to offer a suggestion. There is also a tasting flight that is offered, typically with 3 different wines for $10.
If you haven't been to Satterfields, you owe it to yourself to make a reservation and try them out. You won't be disappointed!

It was okay – Pros: nice wine selection, lovely staff, and I like that the menu changes every week/day
Cons: air condition was not working in the beginning of August and my scallops were extremely salty
Amazing Restaurant with Award Winning Wine List – Satterfields is a wonderful restaurant. The Chef is extraordinary creating new menu items daily. The food is all fresh and all fantastic. They have oysters on the half shell and fantastic deserts. The service is always great and the environment is spectacular. Beyond the chef's interesting and unique culinary creations which are incredible and delicious on their own, is Satterfield's wine list. Their wine list have been given awards from Wine Spectator as one of the best restaurant wine lists in the nation. From the perfect savignon blanc to cabernet savignon to champagne, the wine list is out of this world, always having the perfect wine for the perfect dinner.
