Neighborhoods: Downtown, Meatpacking District
I traveld to NYC two weeks ago with my friends we were looking to party at a nightclub so we went to Meat-packing district to find a good party. We met this really nice guy named Tal that works as a club promoter and he told us all the options we have in the area and recommended us to go to a roof top party in which he wasn't involved but recommended that one any ways. We went their it was really nice place but it was pretty empty so we called him again and he got us into Tenjune for free and he even gave us free drinks all night. The place was nice but a little too loud. In the next day we called him again and he took us to a different place that was really fun again totally free. Too bad we met him on the last two days of our trip to NYC we spent so much money and time standing in lines before that.
If you plan to go to a club in NYC you shold contact him through Facebook and ask him what he recommends his full name is Tal Goldfus - Enjoy NYC

Be Careful!! – Came to this club on a Friday at a suggestion of a local. It was my college roomate's 40th birthday and she felt extra special as we were able to move up the line thanks to some young guy with a VIP table. The night was fun until the end of the night when we closed out our tab. Understanding that NYC is know for it's expensive cocktails, I signed out my bill and was on my way. It wasn't until the following Monday I noticed I was charged twice from my account, once without the tip and the a second time for the entire bill plus the tip removing almost $200 from my account. When I called the number provided someone said they would look into and never got back to me, I'm still waiting for my money to be returned. This is bad buisness as it's a form of robbery. I'm hoping by the end of the work day today for my funds to be returned including the tip. Terrible and sheisty!!! BE CAREFUL! I will be extra cautious at any club and more often use cash!!
the BEST tip about tenjune and the only way to enjoy it – We are visiting from CA, and decided last Thursday to follow the concierge's advice and go to Tenjune. The line was long, it was cold and the door is really tough. The concierge at our hotel was really good and he gave us the contacts of this guy Erez who works for the club, and so we called him up. This guy met us outside, put us on the guest list, and before you know it we cut through the 30 minute line straight into the VIP area!!! . we had a BLAST and partied till 6am!
Erez took us to a different club every night for a week and had the same deal!!!
the best you'll ever get about nyc night life: friend erez on facebook and find out what he can offer you. his name is erez j dimant.
FRAUD AT TENJUNE, SL....BEWARE IF YOU PAY WITH CREDIT CARD – I've been to Tenjune many times. Recently I also went to SL, the newer club owned by the same owners. They also own the club @ W Hoboken. 2 things worthy of note:
1) If you buy a drink at the bar and use a credit card to pay for it, they will run the amount of the drink price you owe PLUS 20 %. Many establishments do that but here is the kicker. THE RECEIPT WILL NOT NOTE THIS AND THERE WILL BE A LINE FOR TIP. Unsuspecting customers will pay the usual 15 to 20% and they will end up with 35% TO 40% TIP ON TOP OF THE PRICE OF THE DRINK WHICH IS OVERPRICED TO BEGIN WITH!!!! THIS IS FRAUD. THEY ARE NOT MAKING IT TRANSPARENT TO THE CUSTOMER THAT A 20% TIP HAS BEEN ADDED.
2) If you purchase a bottle as I have done on many a occasion, they will charge the price of the bottle and 20% gratuity which is fair as it is made transparent before you buy. THEY WILL TACK ON A 4.5% FEE FOR MANAGEMENT SERVICES-TOTALLY BOGUS FEE ON THE BACK END-ALSO FRAUDULENT AS NEVER MADE TRANSPARENT. This can be rather large as amounts for ordering bottles can add up to thousands of dollars.
EUGENE REMM AND MARK BIRNBAUM SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR RIPPING OF UNSUSPECTING PAYING CUSTOMERS. THEY SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR SUCH PRACTICES AND INDEED THE NY STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT THIS. This practice holds true for all 3 of their establishments.....
Great Place – I had my boyfriend's 30th birthday at Tenjune and couldn't be happier. We called in advance to reserve a table for a group of 10. The reservationist was really helpful. When we arrived the hostess made sure our group was escorted right in without waiting on line. Our waitress made sure we had enough liquor on the table all night. Overall...it was a great place to have a party for a small group.
Fun Club – Typically when I go to Tenjune I have a great time with my friends. There are times depending who is at the door where you may encounter a problem and be asked to pay an absurd amount of money for a bar tab but I guess you should be willing to spend when going to meatpacking district. Nonetheless I enjoy this club and will go back
Dissapointing Party, but High Price + Very Rude Door Man – It seems no way to get in at the first. Since I was taking out my girl friend for her B.D., I just wanted to get in smoothly. The door man asked me "Do you wanna table? It's $600" And I said "For 2 girls? No, way." Then, he went on "How much can you pay? $300?" Finally we got in for $250. But the party wasn't worth it. People in there mainly good looking, and may had money or connection, but didn't know how to party, so we soon got board. It was nothing special compared to other places in a city, but much more rude and badly managed. And as we were leaving, one of the Door man was trying to get his last income, he was let really bad looking couple in asking for $40 cash each. And once the B.F. asked them if he can use his card, the door man said "No, get out" We just felt disgusting, and didn't wanna come back here anymore.
Amazing Party – I have not been here since the summer of 2007, when it was considered one of the top clubs in meatpacking. Usually most clubs go down in pedigree, but definitely not Tenjune. After having no problems at the door, I walked downstairs and was immediately blown away by the great music. Between top 40, mash-ups, and hip-hop the DJ was definitely reading the crowd, keeping everyone going throughout the night. Great and friendly bartenders, and I will without a doubt be coming back to Tenjune this summer.
TenJune Sucks! – This place should get closed down. There staff is very rude they don't like letting anyone in, unless they know you or your buying 2 bottles for 3 ppl.. The guys stand around and wait for people to grease them. I hate it! NO ONE GO!
