Super! – I was compelled to review this restaurant after reading some wild blasphemy elsewhere (see a few reviews below...). I visited Simon's last week and am compelled to say that "a few unique rolls" is a terrible understatement. The menu that I viewed had at least twenty of Simon's own creations described on a single page, which even listed a selection for those who wanted Simon to concoct a roll according to the patron's tastes. For those less daring, there is also a more traditional menu.
To say that there was nothing special about the food only shows the ignorance of the reviewer. Also, I feel as if it goes without saying that the bill would be $74 *without alcohol* as Simon's is BYOB - very convenient for those who despise the absurdly overpriced drinks served at other classy restaurants. And one more thing... $74's worth of sushi is more than enough for myself and a friend at Simon's.
I've visited many other Japanese restaurants in the past. This is one I will be frequenting from now on.
Great experience – The service at this BYOB restaurant was great. The sushi was good quality for the price. Smaller place, busy in the weekend but we got in quickly. Highly recommended. Will definitely go back

don't go with a high expecatation.... – CON: went on a monday night, it's in the shopping corner next to hooters-restaurant and
it's right next to a sara's secret
we were the only 2 people in the restaurant, so so deco
huge LCD TV on the wall was off which made the room a bit cold/dead (there were music but still too quiet)
special menu doesn't have price.
PRO: seems like a family business, friendly and quick service
tried the BTS roll since read the reviews about it...it was pleasantly good
over all it's much too americanized for my taste...nothing special about the food
and we barely ordered anything and the bill was about $74 w/out alcohol
the place is BYOB...usually most Chinese owned places are like that
if you're a true sushi/sashimi/japanese food fan I'd just try it one time...then mark it off the list b/c there are just too many other wonderful place in Dallas to go that offers a better menu/drinks selection
Good food, good people! – Excellent sushi!
Very fresh, rolled perfectly.
Great atmosphere too, Simon and the other chefs greet you & say good bye, making you feel like a regular even if it's your first time.
Editorial Review – Low-key Plano sushi spot serves classic rolls, sushi and sashimi, plus daily specialty rolls like the BTS ("Better Than Sex").
Quality sushi in a cozy, friendly setting. – Simon's is absolutely wonderful! Simon's is a family-owned and family-run sushi bar right on Central. We first found it a couple of weeks after it opened, and have been faithful customers ever since. He has a number of specialty sushi creations: I recommend the "BTS." I can't tell you here what that stands for, but I can tell you it is delicious.
