I go to Z's 3 or 4 times a month Great food Great atmosphere.
Staff is friendly and thr Bar has a good selection of wine and beer.

If zero stars were an option.... – A large group of friends and I went to Z Grill to have dinner and drinks this week on both Thursday and Saturday night. On Saturday night we asked to speak to the owner about a complaint we had, and our waitress sends over another woman who proceeds to tell us the owner does not deal with drunks! We were SHOCKED at that point and could not believe the degree of rudeness but it got even worse.
We all got up to leave and as we were standing outside the door and the owner followed us outside to continue to harass us! He was beyond rude when speaking to all of us and did not care to hear what we had to say to him or that we had all spent several hundred dollars in his place over two evenings in our group of friends!
The food wasn't good, and the service was bad - the only reason we were there was to hear the band play on both nights.
Apparently we aren't the only ones in town who have been handled this way. I have read reviews on the internet that have been as bad and worse - one customer had the police called because he disputed his bill! The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Dont go - spend your hard earned money where you will be treated with respect and in a better environment!
great local hangout – We go to the Z Grill two to three times a week. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and always make sure we get what we need. The owner (Al) likes to talk to his guests and always tries to make sure that customers are happy. They have nickel games which the kids love! The cheese fries are my favorite but my husband loves the burgers.
dont go to this place part II – Wow I was really surprised. I told Al I would pay for the chips and salsa but not the queso?He tells me ?you are going to pay for the queso and that is that?. So I said to myself we will see. At this point I asked for my bill and guess who brings it over? Our friend/manager/owner, Al Abbood. It had my drink and the chips and queso on the ticket, so I told Al again that I would not pay for the queso. He then tells me ?you will, or I will call the police?. I told Al to call the police?so he does. My coworker then gets up and meets Al at the front of the restaurant and he pays Al for the chips and queso to keep the peace?so Al returns back to the table and says ?You have a good friend; he took care of the queso. I just need my money for your drink and I need you to leave with the police?. The police then shows up and walks me out of the bar and proceeds to question me on what took place. I told them what happened, and one of the officers replied ?This guy does this all the time and he has had many complaints about the service at his place of business?. Al comes outside with me and the police and asks for a criminal trespass from the officers and I laugh and replied ?you do not have to worry; I will never ever visit this place again?. So the officer issues me a trespass citation and tells me not to come back. To top it all off, Al comes back out of the bar and tells the officer I need to pay for the queso...I replied, ?My coworker has already paid you? and with that, he replies that his money was reimbursed and that I need to take care of my own bills. My favorite line was what he ended with: ?you mess with the wrong guy!? The officer told me to just pay for the $8 bowl of queso and you don?t have to see this place and guy again. The officer tells me I can take him to court, but it will cost me $25 to file. Believe me I will take this court!

I have had some interesting dining experiences...just thought I'd share.
I have never been much of a complainer at restaurants. I've had numerous bad experiences, but this tops them all?last night at Z Grill & Tap in Flower Mound, TX
My co-workers and I went into Z Grill & Tap for drinks. Before we could step in the door good we were ?greeted? by a very rude waitress. The group spoke to her and tried to make small talk and was told ?Look I need your drink orders and I have other tables to tend to?so what do you want to drink?? At this point we all looked at each other and said ?someone is having a bad day?. While having drinks, my co-workers and I decided to order chips and queso. Before the queso comes out, the rude waitress comes to the table with a stack of plates and utensils and hands them to my coworker as if he works there. We all look at each other again and laugh about it. At this point we were met with an unpleasant "surprise". The manager/owner, Al Abbood, comes out with our order and takes it around the restaurant and allows four different tables to hover and breathe on the order. It gets worse- the manager/owner, Al Abbood, comes to our table with our order and asks if we ordered this and we all replied ?yes?, and he takes it to another table and asks if they ordered it and the replied ?no?. So Al takes it back to the rude waitress and she brings it to us after it had been passed around to a total of five tables. At this point, I was very upset with the service and asked the waitress to bring out a fresh bowl of queso and she replied? are you serious?!? I replied ?yes I am??.so she removes the bowl of queso from the table and takes it to the back for about 20 sec., then brings it back to the table as if she really grabbed a fresh bowl. At this point, I flagged down the manager/owner, Al Abbood, and I asked for the bill to be adjusted due to the inconvenience and I was told NO (by the pathetic manager/owner Al Abbood ). I have to pay for it?
Former regular customer will NEVER go there again – My wife and I used to go to Z grill at least once a month with our young son. However, we had noticed that the food and the service had been slipping. Tonight sealed the deal. We went with two friends and their young son and the service and treatment were the worst I have ever seen at a restauramt. My friend's meal was not entered into the system (and we were told this after everyone elses meals came). She ordered a salad at that point just to get something quick and that still took another 15 minutes. We asked for the bill to be adjusted due to the inconvenience and were told no (by an pathetic manager). To top it off when we were leaving the young hostess told our friends to never f***** come back to the restauarnt. Don't worry we won't. And the fact that the restaurant only had 4 other tables at 7pm on a Saturday shows others won't either.
Z You Later!!! – This restaurant used to be packed every Sunday afternoon with people at the bar as well as families in the restaurant. Service was always wonderful and the owners The Zwervers were always very friendly. They'd even come around to say hi to the customers knew the regulars by name.
Sadly, the owners sold the restaurant back in November 2007 to a new owner by the name of Al Abbood. Sadly, Al does NOT have the same business sense as the Zwerver family did.
We noticed first that the wait staff had changed and the ones that had been there for years were nowhere to be found. Two out of the last three times we were there, the food quality was not as good.
But the saddest part of all is the lack of customer service. My husband had received an e-mail for his birthday for a free entree (up to a $15 value) of his choice. We've always received the same coupons from the Zwervers and assumed the coupon worked the same way - birthday person chooses an entree up to $15 and THAT entree is taken off the bill. So that is what my husband did. He got the Ahi Tuna for $14.98. We received our bill and only $7.59 was taken off. That was the cost of my son's hamburger. When we asked the waitress about it, all she said was "I know. That was my managers decision". So when we asked to speak to the "manager", Al the owner came out and told us that the coupon clearly stated that it was for an entree when you buy an entree. We explained that we've used the birthday coupon before and they always took the birthday person's entree off. He said he could have taken the $14.98 off had two of us ordered the tuna. But since my son's burger was the least expensive, that was all he was willing to take off.
We told him we were disappointed and then he made a scene in the restaurant calling my husband ungrateful for his free meal - or should I say my son's meal! We assured him that we would not be returning ever again and he did not care. Talk about customer service!
I cannot recommend!
