I found something that I wanted a price on. I asked what the price was because it was not marked. I was quoted a price and went to pay for the item only to be told that I could not purchase the item. I was told that it was a consigned item and the price needed to be clarified. When looking at both the facebook page and the website I realized that the woman had lied to me and simply wanted more money. I got a call and was told that the price would be 120.00. The woman is greedy and dishonest. Beware and find another business to find your treasures.
I visited this shop on the recommendation of a friend. While there were interesting items, I couldn't begin to afford any of them - I found it to be overpriced compared to other places I've shopped. The person minding the shop was too occupied to help much. I haven't been back.
Cowgirl Attic is one of the most unique shops in Lexington. I find lovely items that I think are reasonably priced quite often. A lot of people think old means less expensive but their is great effort and expense put into removing mantles, moldings, stair railings, windows, doors. etc. It an old warehouse filled with architectual salvage, garden iron, antiques, furniture and objects de art, and alot of just cool stuff. You never know what you will find and they have the best garden things you have ever seen. They recieve a truckload of trellis, gate, fencing, arbors. planters, cast iron urns, gazebos and fountains and unique antique items throughout the year. I love the decor especially the room wallpapered with old book pages and horse items. They also carry old doors, antique hardware, mantles, old windows, cast iron bathtubs and sinks. You don't want to miss this place. I think the other reviewers must have hit the store on rare circumstances. Hey, small business have it tough in this economy and sometimes misunderstandings happen. The store has undergone some recent renovations and reorganization. The items have been organized better than in years prior. I think it would be a great mistake to miss this store.
Neat stuff....but pricey...especially since most of the stuff just sits outside in the weather. Sorry, but you should either pay less for the items originally or realize that if you want to make money your prices need to be realistic.
Condescending and rude – I will not be returning to Cowgirl Attic despite my original delight upon walking in. Yes, the place is full of junk, but there are some really interesting pieces to be found. Unfortunately, like other reviewers have mentioned, these pieces are certainly not priced as reasonably as the location/setup would suggest. Now this wouldn't have bothered me had I not also been spoken to very rudely by the owner. She was obviously busy, but when presented with a question about something I was looking for she practically scoffed at me-- how DARE I ask about salvaged wood? She informed me that I was NOT going to find anything like what I was looking for ANYWHERE (a table top or something to make into a table top) nor was I going to get anything even similar for a cheap price ( I can only assume she gathered I was looking for "cheap" because of my age, which is mid-twenties because I certainly didn't mention a price range and in fact, mine is quite broad). Long story short, I was very put off, downright discouraged, and will NOT be returning to this location even if I have to resort to buying my goods online.
Distain is off-putting and no way to run a business.
Okay for Lexington, but be prepared to go elsewhere – I am writing this review as someone who is looking for salvage materials-restoring homes-The front of the store has some nice things, etc, but the rest of the place is pretty poorly organized and there is a ton of junk. There are a few good finds here and there, but they are not cheap and the owner doesn't seem to know her stuff regarding salvage (what period things are from etc) If you are looking for decent salvage go to Cinc. instead.
