This bar sucks - stay away!!!. What can I say - it sucks; Over-priced drinks, over-confident waitstaff (if any), ass**le bartenders, sucky bands, gross, disgusting bathrooms that absolutely reek, 20% gratuity whether you like it or not, and finally rude, snotty and un-caring management.
South beach this Isn't! 20% Gratuity Charged on EVERYTHING! Avoid!. I have been coming here for many years and enjoyed the diversity of the different sounds and atmospheres. Tonight was a different story. The bartender was extremely rude and when presented with the bill, they had added 20% gratuity/tip to the total. I asked the bartender if this was something new that revolution room was doing. She stated that they have been adding 20% for over a year and I must just not have noticed. She also stated that if you are one person or 20 people, they still add this. This I would have noticed before. I usually tip my barstaff well above 20% but to see this added automatically was downright insulting. I have never seen or heard of any place in San Antonio doing this. Granted in restaurants when you have parties of 5 or more this gratuity can be added but in a bar with two people? C'mon, this is ridiculous! Even South Beach only charges 18% gratuity and this is most certainly not South Beach! After sending so much business to Revolution Room, I'll stop. Avoid this place and take your business elsewhere.
Good fun. I had a really fun night here a few months ago. The long islands were awesome and even though the bar was busy the bartenders kept up really well and were actually friendly! There's a fun old time photo booth in the back with the strip photos. The live band starchild ROCKED too
