Absolutely batshit crazy. I have never seen such a severe case of bullying go one in any establishment that actually expected to make money. The owner has some sort of severe mental illness. Ranting and raving. It is bizarre. Selling smokes and magazines must be stressful to treat people like that. Go elsewhere. Jesus Christ screaming at customers in the middle of the store for absolutely no reason is totally unprofessional.
wtf – was downtown so i walked in to get a pack of smokes left my wallet in my car. was asked to show my id didnt have it walked to my car to get it and the old man that worked there started to freak out on me and said i was disrupting his work and not to come back. i dont know if hes messed up in the head are something. i know the old owner before he sold it and at that time it 100% better.
UNBELIEVABLE – What a DUMP, it's a disgrace for the city to allow this DIVE to be open on main street, and it's obvious that the fire marshall is not doing their job, it has to be a FIRE HAZARD. OWNER AND EMPLOYEES ARE SO RUDE, IT'S UNBEARABLE, my very first and last visit, was afraid to buy anything, the place is GROSS, SO ARE THE EMPLOYEES
Did not have a good experience here – I do not live in Lexington but I was traveling there on business recently. I had a very bad experience at this store. BUT, like another poster mentioned...go in and form your own opinion.
You can barely walk in the store from wall-to-wall JUNK!
There was an older man in the store that seemed to work there and he was yelling at another staff member.
Also their prices are very high. I am not sure why the owner has such a mark up on his merchandise but the prices were a little steep for my taste.
If other store employees are posting here....I wouldn't waste my time. Lexington is a big town and there are plenty of customers to go around.
This man will eventually tick enough people off that they won't come back.
Owner - take some prozac and chill out. Also clean up your store. It is a hole. It could be a great store if you would give it some attention. Currently it should be featured on the show HOARDERS.
Best Cigar Store Around – I love this store they have a quality product and their staff and ownership is the best! I always feel welcome and like family when i enter. The owner is a wonderful man and i love his sense of humor! I have been to many cigar stores in many different city's but Fayette Cigar is by far the best! I just want to say thank you to them for the wonderful cigar and service i experience when i am there!!
Great Store and owner – This store has been in business for more than 50 years and has always offered quality cigars and tobacco.I don't know why it's has several bad reviews here, but I think they are from employees of other cigar and tobacco stores. If they would work harder and sell quality products they wouldn't have to use this site attempt to degrade a competitor.
Rude, rude, rude – I agree with the poster who said these cigars are poorly cared for. Stock is not being discarded after a certain amount of time because it is easy to tell some of these cigars have been there for a very, very long time. Cigars did seem to have a 'damp' quality. Owner needs to put a lot more thought into a better humidor if he wants to stay in the cigar business, buying a $59 humidifier from sam's club just doesn't cut it if you want people to take you seriously.
Also, the customer service is so bad.... I don't know what happened to this man in life to make him so bitter but he seems to think he is owed something in life.... by everyone he meets. The employees are rude beyond all belief. Why would the owner of a store actually employ people that behave this way. While I was there, a yelling match actually ensued over the quality of an item some chick didn't agree with. The owner 'Dale' then went out of his way to verbal abuse and berate her. Just because you own a crappy cigar store doesn't give you the right to verbally abuse the public.
Bottom line: please stop shopping here, it is only a matter of time before this man turns violent. Serious anger management issues.
If your into good cigars PLEASE steer clear of here – I have stopped by Dale's place downtown and have purchased pleanty of "stale" cigars. The pricing of the cigars is not to bad except for a few but the product is NOT properly taken care of. The humi is too damp and the cigars just aren't taken care of which is a big turn-off. Another Bigger turn-off is the owner himself. I hate to say it but the guy is just plain rude as well as his staff. IMHO save your hard earned cash and look elsewhere for smokes. D. Scott- USMC
I have to agree - the place is s%&t – I don't think Walmart stores even sell cigars do they? If so, go to Walmart and buy cigars from them. The owner of this store is an a**. As far as dogs that drag their owners in front of the store to get treats from the owner... so what? Just because you are pet friendly does not mean you are human/customer friendly. Nor does it mean you have an adequate selection of tobacco products.
You are going to have to go in this store and make up your mind for yourself. I will guarantee you the true colors of this place will be obvious.
