Great service – I went here for my first wedding dress and shoes. Due to being a little pregnant I can not wear the first dress I picked. So I went to Alfred Angelo for the second one. I wish they had the dress I wanted the second time because there customer service is far better. They do a lot of there services right there which is a hell of alot fast that Alfreds. Someone complained before me about shoes Alfred Angelo's takes 6-8 weeks before they get them in not to mention you still have to get them died. It took 6-8 weeks for my gown Still had to alter it. I had none of these problems with Davids bridal I bought my dress without having to order it and they carried a lot of samples in my size it was very convenient.
Horrible Service – Yesterday I had to go to David's Bridal to get a pair of shoes I need for a wedding. I called them the week before and asked how long it would take to dye the shoes and when I would get them back. I was told it would take 24 hours and I would get the shoes the next day. WELL, when I was at the counter purchasing the shoes, the moody sales girl told me I wouldn't get the shoes until MARCH 15th!! I told her that I called the week before and was told differently, and she said "Well, it takes us 24 hours to dye the shoes but we get hundreds of shoes a week and it's a first come-first serve policy and we have lots of shoes to dye ahead of yours." Because I already paid I couldn't stop the purchase, so I just left. She didn't even apologize or anything. She also seemed really annoyed that the bride wasn't registered there (because she obviously wanted better service). Now I'm stuck having to push back my dress alteration date (and cutting it really close) because I believed what they said over the phone.
High pressure salespeople – I went to this location since it is close to my house. The first time I went, a very young salesgirl had me fill out all kinds of forms of personal information before she even asked what I was looking for. Then she handed me a catalog and had me pick some styles. I told her that I did not want a ball gown or anything big and fluffy. That was all she brought me and I told her each time I tried a new dress that I did not want ball gowns. She would go back and get more gowns but they were all wrong. I left shortly thereafter.
A month later, I came back with my maid of honor to find dress for her. She did not get assisted and when I told them who helped me last time, they said she no longer worked there. There seemed to be an awful amount of turnover there in employees. I decided to look at bridal gowns again since they were having a sale and found a few I liked. I narrowed down my selection between two dresses and of course, they told me the expensive dress looked better on me even though my maid of honor and my fiance said the other did. They kept trying to pressure me to buy the expensive one but I ended up buying the other. My maid of honor did not find a dress or anyone to help her.
The alteration costs here are super expensive and all the dresses there have to be hemmed unless you are 6 feet tall. The selection is ok and the salespeople pushy. They seemed to want to take my money more than assist me or tell me the truth.
