Overpriced, Slow Kitchen – After living in Paris for 2 years, I was looking forward to duck as only the French can make it. We were seated at 5:40, ordered very swiftly as we had brought my 2 yr old, but weren't served our entree until 10 or 15 min AFTER our appetizers were removed. The duck was over-sauced, luke warm and my requested risotto replacement for the mash potatoes was only partially understood as the duck was served on top of potatoes with a spoonfull of rice. (My mother's seabass was overcooked and also luke warm, she however, did not complain and this special was $28.50.) I was told mine would be served with broccoli, but was given green beans without notice. After conveying this to the server, I was still charged $23.50 for my entree. The wine and soups are excellent and served in a timely manner, but for the price of the entrees and the length of time it takes to receive them (we left the restaurant at 7:10), I think I'll pass on this restaurant in the future.
Definitely worth trying – I have been to Hexagone for lunch and have had two dinners there. The food was excellent every time. The service was reasonably good on two occasions and adequate the third.
dissapointed – Never had the chance to eat. 7:30 pm on a Wednesday, party of two. We were encouraged to wait at the bar as we did not call ahead. The six beer choices listed on the menu were limited to two actually available, and they were out of Ketel One. Apparently short staffed as we watched 3 groups of two get seated while nursing our drinks. We departed at 8:30 without acknowledgement from the snooty maitre d'.
A French Restaurant with poor service. – The service at this restaurant was the poorest that I have experienced in a long time. The waiter did not even know how to open a bottle of champagne let alone pour it after the bottle was opened. It took 20 minutes to get a bucket of ice for the bottle only after complaining. The entrees that my wife and I received were cold (obviously they stood in the kitchen for quite awhile before being brought to the table). We sent them back, only to have the plate heated in an oven. This made the food tough and less appetizing. Needless to say, we did not enjoy the meal. Poor value.
The maitre d never came to our table to apologize for the poor service and food quality.
