Nice Time – I had brunch here with some people from work after a terrible week and it was just what we needed -- huge portions, innovative menu options, delicious coffee. The berrys and cream french toast was really good! The breakfast burrito looked delicious, and I would have loved to have tried the egg breakfast sandwich. I really enjoyed the time.
Not a top ten / best of 2008 experience. – After reading several top ten, or number one awards Toast has received I decided to go check it out myself since I am new to the Denver area. After arriving and having to wait (expected) to be seated it took longer than expected to get out drinks. My coffee cup spent more time empty than full. It took longer than expected for our food to arrive. I ordered the big breakfast with the lemon blueberry pancakes. My order of pancakes was thin and disappointing, while my friend who ordered the same thing got great pancakes. We both agree that they were good pancakes if they were just blueberry pancakes. There was no lemon flavor at all that we could discern. It was disappointing. My sausage was very dry, and burnt. I ended up scraping char off of it. The bacon was good. The potatoes were either not seasoned, or over-seasoned. They need to do a better job of distributing the seasoning on the potatoes. We also ordered a side of the regular French toast. It was also disappointing, once it got deliverded to the table. It took until the meal was almost over for the side of french toast to arrive. The bread selection for it was great, the problem being is that they were only lightly coated and then fried leaving the French toast dry in the middle and tough. Artisan bread should be allowed to soak up the custard leaving a nice soft center, with a crisp outer coating. Overall I was disappointed in the experience at Toast. I don?t see myself returning.
This is yet another reason why the Denver suburbs are completely useless. – There is nothing great to say about this place at all. Everything from the high school employees to the ridiculous pancakes are just plain stupid.
Go to Mona's downtown and stay out of the suburbs.
Great Lunch – I went to Toast today with a co-worker, she had a beautiful salad and I had the most incredible fish tacos! Now I am a huge fan of the fish taco craze, I mean I love Wahoos, but these tacos were absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend them. The service was also very good. They have now switched over from the quick casual method to having wait staff. This definitely makes for a better dinning experience, especially if you are too lazy to get up and get your own refills. Very impressed and like I said before, the best fish tacos ever!!!!!!!
Good Eats – Magically Delicious! Good food, nice service, and great atmosphere. A nice take on breakfast, I really enjoy the breakfast burrito. Have not tried lunch yet, but it looks good too. A nice addition to the area in my opinion.
Wow, what great pancakes! – I love breakfast! I really, really love breakfast! I especially really, really, love pancakes for breakfast. Toast has a creative take on todays breakfast and lunch fare. Personally I am more of a sweet guy over a savory guy, but do not worry they have a great selection of eggseptional dishes for those who are not into the sweet stuff. Service is good, but the food is fantastic. Prices are comparable to your higher quality breakfast joints for example, Devil's Food (which I like too), Cafe Bisque, The Original Pancake house, so on and so on. What really makes Toast stand out from the rest is the quick casual service. You pay first and then the food comes out to you. Great idea for those on the run! I need to come back and try lunch, but the breakfast is just so good it may take me awhile. A must try!
Excellent Experience! – Interesting seeing those negative reviews. Hmmmmm. I was in Toast this morning with my wife and kids and we had a wonderful meal and experience. They were busy and we still experienced great service and food. I had a benedict and it was creamy and delicious, best I have had in a long time. My wife had the breakfast burrito that she really enjoyed and the kids split an order of berries and cream french toast. The coffee is great if you are in to that. I do not find the food to be over priced at all. They are very comparable to other breakfast establishments here in Denver. Yes if you are looking for a $3.99 greasy diner special, than this is not the place for you. Or maybe the ordering at the counter throws you off? Maybe you have not been to Parisi or Il Vicino, they have counter ordering too. Counter ordering is actually refreshing because you can leave when you are done with your meal. No more waiting for your waitress. Who knows we come all the time and have yet to have a bad experience.

To those who had a bad experience between December 1-9, I apologize for any errors we made in serving you. We are a fast-casual restaurant, and as such are a seat yourself and order at the counter kind of establishment. Examples of this kind of restaurant are Noodles Inc, Pei Wei Asian Diner, or Il Vicino. The food runners (not waiters or waitresses), while happy to assist you in any way possible, will only know that there is a problem if you talk to them. I'm also sorry you felt that our $9.99 Eggs Benedict, incidentally one of John Lendorf's (food reviewer for the Denver Post) most memorable meals for 2007, was too expensive. Our Classic Eggs, at $7.49 is our basic breakfast, and comes with choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo, and with potatoes and toast.
We pride ourselves on our great food. Everything we serve is fresh, and of the highest quality. We serve Eggland?s best eggs; our sausage is made locally by Polidori (voted Denver's best sausage for the last 3 years). We try to make as much from scratch as we can, such as our crab cakes or Hollandaise sauce. This care and attention to detail garnered us the award for Best Breakfast from Westword's Best of Denver 2007, and inclusion in multiple dining guides from the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, 5280, and the Gabby Gourmet 2008.
Toast Fine Food and Coffee
Still doesn't have it right. – After visiting Toast when it first opened up we were very disappointed. The customer service was awful and the atmosphere wasn't any better. Hoping they would have improved over time, my husband and I tried it again. Yuck. Still a horrible experience. The food is overpriced. The staff is still unattentive and rude. I would not recommend it to anyone!
Don't get burnt by Toast – My wife and I went to Toast on December 1, 2007 after having read some of the reviews. Upon entering the restaurant we were told to get menus and seat ourselves. The few tables available were filthy and the floors were equally unswept. We sat against the wall away from the very cold and windy door. The seats we chose were just as bad as the outside temperature of 45 degrees. The vents above my head were blowing cold air. I ordered and paid in advance for the eggs benedict ($14) for my wife and the basic breakfast ($12) for me. Breakfast priced as such carried high expectations. Along with the two smoothies the meal cost about $40. The smoothies arrived in plastic to go containers. The meals arrived while we wore our coats for warmth. We had to ask for silverware and the waiter did not even care as to why the 10 people in the restaurant at the time all had on jackets. There were four front of house staff on at the time. No one asked us about the quality of the meal. After about 80% through the meal, my wife found a hair between her eggs and the english muffin. This was the kind of hair commonly found below the neck. We immediately stopped eating. No one cared that the meals were sitting in front of us for 15 minutes untouched. Having paid in advance we got up to leave and walked passed a waiter behind the front counter. He said "thanks for comin". I responded that he might want to inform the management that there was a hair in my wife's food. He responded "oh, o.k.". After a deliberate pause and witnessing the waiter stare at me, we left. Never to come back.
