Best cheap ribeye in town – I love this place. I am here often. Solid Margs and a cheap ribeye I can eat wrapped in a flour tortilla with all the Mexican fixin's.

The traditional Mexican food is very good too. I just like to open casual atmosphere and feel comfortable here.

I Love This Place – This is a great place. I'm from Texas and have given up on finding Tex-Mex in Denver, it just doesn't exist. But this is my favorite Mexican food place in Denver.

I love the casual, almost family style atmosphere. It is loud so not a place for romance but a fun lively atmosphere. The house margaritas are the authentic flavor I like -- and STRONG.

My favorite meal is the ribeye steak with flour tortillas and other fixin's. A nice family owns and runs it.

All for for an affordable price.

Always good!! – Let me state that I do not like the enchiladas because of the red sauce but it is just a personal preference. If you don't like the favor of straight chile power then avoid this. Everything else on the menu is top notch. Is this the best Mexican in Denver? Maybe not but it is near the top. Personally I love the pork chops and the carnitas plate I think is the best in town. I've always had really great service and I've never had a bad meal. Also be prepared for a lot of food, if you get fajitas or the carnitas you can make about 5 -6 psedo-tacos out of it. Also be aware of the strong margs. The first one is not problem but half-way down a second you feel it...they allow up to four...do that at your own risk :)

Best Mexican food in LoDo – Thank God for authentic mexican food in downtown Denver. Its actually hard to find good, authentic mexican food in Downtown Denver, until now. I work on 16th St Mall, and with this being walking distance makes it evern better to frequent. On a nice warm day during the week, make sure to get there by 11:30a at the earliest, otherwise you could be waiting a little while. The salsa & food is very good and tasty. This ain't gringo Mexican food; go to Rio Grande for that.

Yummy Food – I love the food here! It's the best Mexican food in town hands down. My one complaint would be that I've come to eat there a few times and they have been closed! They took a summer vacation which they posted on the door so that was nice to know when they would be open again but this winter I've stopped by several times and it's been closed. I guess there is also an unannounced winter vacation. These things are never posted on the web site so if you make a trip down there call first to make sure they are open!

Best Mexican in Denver – All those times standing in line across the street at the Rio for horrible food and D'Corazon was across the street just waiting. My favorite mexican food in Denver, I'm just bummed I discovered it after I moved away. Next time you think Mexican downtown don't even think about the Rio, go across the street to D'Corazon!

scam artists – I actually like the food here... but i will NEVER go back again.

CHECK YOUR BILL if you do go.

They pad the bill big time.

For example... 3 orders of rice at $1.50 each equals $4.50 right? Well they tried charging $8.98.

And that was just one of the four things we were overcharged for.

Margaritas are advertised as $3 each, but they charged $4 each. Said we couldn't get the "special." There is NO special; they are on the menu as $3 each at all times.

After much much arguing we ended up paying over $20 extra just to get out of the place.

Stay away!!!

Consistently good food, strong margs – I used to work around the corner from this place and have dined at this restaurant since it opened (4 years ago?). The food is really good. I've tried almost everything and I find that the food is consistently tasty. The Tacos Especiales (any kind) are really good, the Chile con Queso here is my favorite over anywhere else and somehow, they even manage to make the-standard-Mexican-menu-item of enchiladas so yummy that I dream of them. The rice and beans are always cooked perfectly - not too soft/loose and not too hard/stiff. The margaritas are strong (limited to 4) and worth the $3 (as long as you order an entree, but usually $5 I think). They're so much better than the ones across the street at the Rio. The only thing that has bothered me over the years are the price increases and sub charges. The $3 marg (as long as you ordered an entree) used to be $2. The Tacos Especiales used to come with beans, now they don't come with anything. Whereas substitutes weren't a problem originally, now there's an extra charge ($1.50?) to substitute a soft chile relleno instead of the hard one that come on the combo plates (why can't you get a choice? And is it really a substitute?). It's a lot of fluffy charges or changes that don't seem justified. Not that the price increases are that significant - I'm just noting the changes I've seen since it opened. Still, out of all the Mexican restaurants we've gone tried in the metro area (and there are A LOT), the food here is simply the best. Now that I don't work downtown anymore, we are willing to drive in and deal with the downtown traffic, just to eat here. And the service is fine - not overly friendly, but very efficient.

Outstanding! Definitely the best mexican in downtown. – I'm absolutely astonished to see negative reviews from the 2 previous posters. (I'm sure the owners would be shocked as well; they take great care to provide good service and ensure happy customers.) I have had nothing but excellent experiences at d'Corazon. I eat there probably once a week for lunch, and have brought many friends and coworkers, and they've always loved it The food is consistently good - the green chili is spicy but not too much so, the guacamole is fresh and tasty, the rice is awesome, and everything is cooked just right. The service is always friendly (my coworker and I have our favorite waiter there who treats us wonderfully,) and they are usually very speedy - making sure you're fed well and back to work within the hour. I have never had a bad meal here! It's clean, friendly, and delicious. The continuous line out the door is a testament to how fantastic the food and service are - people are willing to wait when there are 3 other mexican restaurants within 1 block (and none of those places have a crowd like d'Corazon, I assure you.) I'll even make a special trip downtown just to eat at d'Corazon on the weekends because it's one of my favorite restaurants.

Treats their customers TERRIBLE – My two teenagers (ages 15 and 17) went out to dinner with their friends at D'Corazon restaurant in Denver, Colorado. They had with them 2 of their friends (ages 16 and 17). My family has been to D'Corazon many, many times. On this occasion last night, my teens had a certificate ($25) for D'Corazon to use (for dinner only, minimum purchase $35). They waited 20 minutes for the staff to get through to the number on the restaurantcom certificate and the staff told them they could not get through to the number and therefore would NOT honor the restaurantcom certificate. My son had to use his debit card, which thankfully, we had just loaded the card with $25, plus the cash we gave him to buy merchandise at the Colorado Mammoth game, in order to pay for his and his companions dinner, the amount coming to $46.00. What would have happened if my son didn't have enough money?? It was a traumatic experience and an embarrassing experience to take friends out for dinner, only to find out that the $25 restaurantcom certificate you relied on, wasn't available to use. Not only did my son have to use his debit card, but the amount that the restaurant charged to his debit card is MORE than what is on the receipt .

I sent a letter to the restaurant (as well as restaurantcom and restaurantcom made things right with me) but the restaurant didn't bother contacting me. We will never eat there again. Greedy, greedy, greedy!!
