The worst experience of the last few months!!! – I wouldn't ever eat at this restaurant again even if the food was free of charge. First, we had to wait approximately 25 minutes to even get our order taken. It took 15 of those minutes to even get two simple glasses of water.

Then came the experience of being fed. OYE VAY!! How would you like to be charged $4.95 for one small handful of lettuce? Me neither!!! Then, after you ask for a few peppers to be thrown into one of the calzones, the upcharge is $1.35 when you aren't even told in advance about it.

Then comes the next surprise that you get your check, and find that two people get an automatic 18% tip added on to their bill if you use the preferred dining card.

And, lastly, wouldn't you think that if the management knew that you were really unhappy all the way around, they would throw in something for you just as a way to say they were sorry. But, this place seems to be so unaware or uncaring about their customers that even when you tell them about all of this, you don't even get an "I'm sorry."

Well, I'm sorry that even for free, they will never see me again.

In this economy, if I owned a restaurant, I would do whatever it took to keep my customers happy. There are simply too many places to eat that are actually happy to have your business.

Stay away is my opinion.

Details on the bad service – After reading the one star reviews and five star reviews I wasn't sure what we would find. We went to hear the jazz and get dinner. We did wait at the entrance too long before being courteously seated. They don't seem to have a system for seating customers, just wait till someone notices you. The waiter was not prompt with service, although he looked like he was trying. We waited 20 minutes for the check after asking for it, but were enjoying the jazz, anyway. What ruined the evening was the owner's bad service and that indicated poor service training is responsible for the other service problems. After finding 4 black edged slimy pieces of lettuce in my salad I sent it back to the kitchen. The owner came over and instead of apologizing she told me "That was the green lettuce, and it's perfectly normal". When I asked, "To be black?", she said, "There was nothing wrong with that salad!". First of all, the lettuce was tired and black lettuce is not normal, third, what was green lettuce doing in a romaine salad, and third of all, who cares if I was right or not, I wasn't satisfied and she should have tried to make it right, not told me I was wrong. I was afraid to eat the rest of my meal. Who knew how old the other ingredients were, and how they were handled. The pizza looked and tasted pretty good though.

Shockingly Terrible Service In this Economy – This restaraunt has terrible customer service practices. After hearing about how wonderful the food was from a friend, we decided to go for lunch one Friday afternoon. We walked in and stood there waiting to be seated for what seemed like forever, to the point where I began to get curious as to if we needed to seat ourselves. There were a few customers at the bar and a couple of tables seated, and the bartender was behind the bar chatting, never acknowledging our presence, usually you at least get a"someone will be with you in a moment" or "sit anywhere" but nothing. Finally not seeing any signs that said wait to be seated or seat yourself, I asked the bartender if we needed to seat ourselves, at which time she proceeded to scream at us, and tell us that we had just gotten there. We promptly turned around and left. I guess business must be really good there if you can afford to treat potential customers like crap. Although I was told the food was good, I guess I'll never know, because I'll never eat there and will persuade others not to also.

Complete disappointment – The first we went there for lunch, we had a great experience- the food was tasty, the people and service were good. So, after telling all and sundry to visit Nonnas, we revisited it last week.

The difference was like day and night.

The waitress complained about her tables, the manager totally ignored her and others, including us. Our drinks and appetizers came late. The food was so bad, we were unable to finish it.

Adding insult to injury, we were charged 3 times for the same portion. However, while it was ultimately sorted out, the manager studiously ignored us and didn't apologize or even acknowledge the discrepancy- all in all, this is not a restaurant I will ever visit again.....Very disappointing experience indeed.

Don't bother making reservations – I called Nonna's a week before Valentines day for reservations. We showed up a few minutes before our 6 pm reservation and saw a table that was pulled from another table into the middle of the walk way by the front door. We laughed and joked about how weird the table looked in the middle of the room and that it better not be the table we reserved. Well of course it was. While walking the three feet to the table from the host stand I asked if it were possible to get a different table possibly a booth. I was told this is all they had. We were next to the host stand and had a barrage of butts next to our table all night with people who walked in got booths.

We sat there a good 10 minutes before anyone paid any attention to us. The waitress came over took our app and drink order, which took another 20 minutes to receive at which time our food order was taken. We sat there another 30 minutes with empty wine glasses before the food came, at which time we were asked if we wanted refills. At this point I was not going to order anymore wine to increase the bill. We asked for bread three separate times and finally as we were nearly complete with our meal the bread came to the table and we were charged an additional dollar for the bread that we wanted an hour and a half ago.

The owner ran around busy yelling at the only employee working. The bus boy who did the only good job of clearing our dirty dishes away.

The only good thing about this place was the food. I ordered the Penne Vodka Shrimp and my partner ordered the chicken parmisigan. We would have spent more money on wine and desserts, but didn't want to increase our bill anymore than we already did. We wanted to try something new and local for Valentine's Day. It's unfortunate that it didn't work out as the atmosphere and food at this place is good. This is the first review I have ever written about a restaurant. I just feel like people should know what they are getting into with this place.

BEST FOOD EVER!!! – I visit Nona's every chance I get! They have an always professional wait staff, extremely yummy food, and an extremely comfortable ambiance. You can't go wrong here. My favorite dish is the asparagus ravioli...a little pricy, but worth every penny! The first time I visited this place, it was quite a bit smaller than it is today, and the owners came out and greeted me personally. I was so impressed that I went back again, and again, and again.

Great Time! – My husband and I just recently had dinner at Nonna?s Bistro and had a great time. It was a bit expensive ($12+ a plate) but the food was awesome and worth every dime. The service was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant and bar area was cozy. The owner is very friendly and very professional. I?m very picky about Italian food and this place gets my vote. Their tomato sauce is made just how I like it. My husband and I will definitely be going back again for a nice romantic night out. I would suggest trying the stuff mushrooms.

Is that busy a good thing? – I travel to Denver a lot for business and always make it a point to visits Nonna's. Even though the food was great, as always, I was disappointed to have had to wait so long at the front to be ackowledged let alone be seated...a hostess/manager would be nice.

Once I was close to walking out, a very nice waitress seated me at once. My waiter was new to me this time and I was not impressed with him at all. Once he took my order he never bothered to tend my table once. He walked by my emply wine glass several times before I stopped him to ask for more wine. I know they were very busy and that is a good sign, but the service this time was not a good sign. I still love the food and I will be back from Dallas!

Best Italian food in denver – I love going to nonna's the service is excellent. I always go there with my wife and we always trying something new. But the one thing there that is my favorite is the bread with marinara and the veal marsala its to die for. Anything that my wife and i have tried we love it. The best night we have had there is on fridays or saturdays when they have live entertainment. So if you ever get to go try it. It's on monaco and leetsdale they also have a wide selection of wine and spirits.
