Decent value and eclectic outdoor decor – I got to the oddly located Eggcredible Cafe shortly after noon. After seeing how empty is was, I noticed the interesting decor. One wall looked like a log cabin, while the others were tall windows with drapes that appear to end in doilies. The murals by the stairs and along the wall of an overlook were neat--I thought the one of the bear catching a fish was cool, and the geese near the lake along the mountains wasn't bad either. All together, the decor is a outdoorsy but not necessarily the same style.
Micah, my waiter, promptly brought me a carafe of water and told me about the daily special, biscuits and gravy with two eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage for $7.49. I opted for the veggie scramble instead. It was a tiny bit cheaper at $7.29 for eggs with spinach, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, artichoke hearts and a ton of feta cheese on top. The scramble came with a lightly buttered English muffin and some seasoned peasant potatoes. The eggs were a bit brown, but there really wasn't much egg compared to the enormous amount of veggies and cheese. The potatoes were salty on the first bite, but overall quite tasty. I would suggest ordering a drink; I stuck with the water, but there was a strong taste of chlorine in it.
There weren't a lot of less expensive items on the menu, breakfast or otherwise. Thankfully, I had my Entertainment book coupon for 20% off; so, I thought the value was pretty good.
This wasn't my favorite place to go, but I had a satisfying brunch complete with a to-go box of leftovers.
Awesome breakfasts and service! – My girlfriend and I visited the Eggcredible Cafe while on vacation this past Xmas. We stayed at the hotel the restaurant is in for one night. I expected just your usual run-of-the-mill hotel cafe, but to my surprise, it was much more. The decor is really cute, the menu very intriguing, and the owners, Maciek and Karina (from Poland), were both extremely friendly and treated me like an old friend eventhough I had just met them that morning.
I wish I did not have to leave for Denver early that day so I could have stayed for lunch and tried their pierogis. (I love pierogis, they're a staple from my grandma's kitchen!) All I ordered were a couple of breakfast sandwiches for our trip to the airport. They were both DELICIOUS! Not greasy or soggy, but as perfect as a breakfast sandwich could be. If the rest of the menu is as delicious as that sandwich, then Eggcredible Cafe is one heck of a restaurant.
Even if you're not staying at the hotel, and you're either visiting or living in Boulder, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Next time we're back in town, we'll definitely be heading there again. 5 stars!
