I would not recommend this place for large parties... or small parties... or really any kind of celebration. Our group of 12 made reservations there on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends upcoming wedding. When our group unexpectedly became 13 instead of 12 our server snapped. He raised is voice in frustration and told us he would have to tear his entire set up down and start over to add one chair. This solution seemed a little extreme to our laid back group and we assured him we could just squeeze in together and add a chair. When the host of the party tried to lighten the mood and commented on his lack of cheer he seemed less than amused. His attitude made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Between the 13 of us we spent almost $600.00 I will say that we enjoyed the food and drank good wine. Being one of 3 sober drivers, I did not drink and had an empty water glass for most of my entrée. Our server lightened up throughout the courses of food ... until the bill came. He asked the host who would be taking care of the bill. When she told him we would like to split it between different cards he again blew up. He actually said "Apparently you didn't read the menu."( The menu stated that checks could not be separate.)** This would have been an excellent thing to say on the phone when the reservation was made.** The server lacked professionalism as did the over emotional owner who backed the "no splitting check" policy. They were unapologetic that we were not relayed that information while making the reservation.

This restaurant would do good to remember that they are in the service industry and their patrons are spending good earned money with them. At, the very least, if a discrepancy arises, I would like it to be handled with respect and dignity. Our party was more than happy to cooperate to solve how to get them payment, and they seemed so put out at taking care of us. I have personally worked in the service industry and know that it is not difficult to split a check evenly between any number of people.

The lack of respect and the overly emotional responses I witnessed from the staff at Café Prague were really disappointing. No one in our group was making unreasonable requests. We were not loud, nor did we make any major modifications. In fact, we were quick and easy diners. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and I hope Café Prague can fix their mistakes.

The Parking NAZI!! – I have made a point of taking my wife to Cafe Prague 4 or 5 times in the last two years. I cannot complain about the food, as it was very good. However, this Mothers Day we chose to book a family style dinner at Tony Rigatonie"s next door(20+ people). It turns out, the parking lot across the street that we park in year round ( pay by honor system), is actually owned by the owner of Cafe Prague! On Holiday's he chooses to not allow anyone to park in that lot unless they are eating at his restaurant. While I understand his desire to provide parking for his guest's, he denies parking for anyone else visiting Morrison. The parking lot was never more than half full, while we had to park 1/4 mile away, up by Red Rox. In short, I confronted him after exiting Tony's, and he immediatley told me I don"t have to ever eat at his place again, and I replied I wont. I called him the "your not the Soup Nazi but you are the Parking Nazi"! As I was walking away a couple of stranger's said to me, he is like that with everyone, so don't let it bother you. In short, the food may be good, but the owner is an A**hole.

Don't Waste Your Money! – I couldn't disagree more with the positive remarks given to this restaurant. The restaurant scores high on ambiance, service, and cleanliness; but the food--the most important part of the experience--was a total disappointment. I was so dissatisfied that I wrote a personal letter to the owner and never heard a word back from him. I complemented everything, then gave my honest opinion of the food, and he never even took the time to write back. Believe me when I say, when an owner fails to reply to a hand-written letter, there are many things that he (or she) will overlook too. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. EVER! If you like ambiance, service, cleanliness, and some of the worst food in Morrison (no, Colorado), than Cafe Prague is for you. BTW: They are overpriced for their portions. I think the good reviews of this restaurant must be from friends, relatives and employees. Avoid this place!

Superb! – We have been to Prague twice. The ambiance both inside and out is lovely. Both times our service has been excellent. The owner stopped by our table and chatted both times.

The food is great, classic European. We are great Schnitzel fans from our travels in Europe and the Prague Schnitzel is so good that it is hard to explore the rest of the menu.

The wine list is good and the waiters allow you to taste wines if there is a bottle open. In another case we had finished our bottle of red and they opened another and charged us only for the glasses we had. They also have some great Czech beers that are not on the beer list and are worth asking for.

Cafe Prague had best shape up – This is my 5th visit to Cafe Prague. My husband loves the place. I am more critical. He doesn't know this. Tonight I had Weiner Schnitzel and there was lots of it - but tasteless. Thin as a sheet of paper. How can there be flavor? The red cabbage was leftover. Dull in color (should be bright 'purple'). The salad "was to send back."

It was wilted and bruised - you know: like old. The first few times we went it was superb. I think they are now second rate. Love the patio. Hope they read this and shape up.

Greatest Experience in Denver – I recently moved to the area from Chicago-a town that has hundreds of 4 and 5 star restaurants-and I would put Cafe Prague up against any of them. The entire staff understands service. The portions are large and the value is exceptional.

The wine selection is first class. I recommend that you order any of the specials as the chef is a master.

I read some of the other reviews and must say that the negative ones seemed to be miss guided. I couldn't disagree more.

This is a true gem in beautiful Morrison.

Well Done Eastern European Food – Some close friends that live in the area suggested we go to Cafe Prague last weekend. I was a little worried after reading the reviews here. But, I trust their taste, and decided to give it a shot.

I'm glad we did, the good was spectacular, the wine from their rotating specials list was fantastic (as a matter of fact, we picked up a bottle at Applejack's on the way to the airport), and the food was all fantastic. The sauerkraut soup that came with my meal was extremely well done. Tomato based with potatoes and sausage. Really tasty.

The special was elk, which I really enjoyed. It came with spatzel, a cognac peppercorn cream sauce, and red cabbage. The elk was perfectly cooked, and had great flavor. The sides were also quite tasty.

I also got to taste the goulash and the sauerbraten. Both were very good. The sauces had fantastic flavor. I thought the beef in the goulash was a touch dry, but several others in the group said they would definitely order it again. So it may just have been the bite I had.

The server, whose name I unfortunately don't remember, was very good. He seemed a little dry at first, but I think it was a cultural thing, because he kept the same demeanor the whole meal but was joking around with us, and overall providing an excellent level of service and doing a great job answering questions about the menu and making suggestions regarding the wine list. He reminded me a lot of some of the waiters I remember fondly from Slovenia. It seems he had been there for a while, as my friends said that he had waited on them previously, and they thought he was very good then, as well.

In short, if you are near Morrison, and looking for a slightly upscale (both atmosphere and price) Eastern European dining experience, I would recommend that you not let the reviews here dissuade you from visiting Cafe Prague.

AVOID BEING TREATED RUDE – I have never written a review, but felt compelled to warn others! It does not even deserve a one star.

Cafe Prague was a complete DISSAPOINTMENT. The owner lacks social skills and conducts himself in a rude and disrespectful manner. The evening was intended to be a special birthday dinner treat, instead when I asked the owner (also our server) what he recommended, he replied in a condescending nature, "it is all good" period, offering no assistance with the menu. When my husband asked if they offered a dessert special for birthdays, he replied, ?a candle" and walked away. Then he had the audacity to follow us outside and ask why his gratuity was minimal, he is lucky we even left a tip. The food is just average and too pricey. AVOID AT ALL COSTS; there are other restaurants that deserve to be in business- but definitely NOT this one!

why bother? – We have been to cafe prague twice. The food is good, but service is not. The owner has been rude to us when we drop by without reservations. He has ignored us as we waited at the entrance, and been rude to us when we politiely inquired about a seating.

We are over it.
