Dr. Pearson saved my dog's life when everyone else told us it was hopeless. I have read the negative reviews and I must say that my experience was the exact opposite of what those reviewers say. My Portuguese Water Dog, L.C., had a breast tumor the size of a papaya and has heart issues when put under anesthesia. The other vets wouldn't operate on her (which was why the tumor got so big). I found Dr. Pearson called on a Wednesday and she was operated on 3 days later on Saturday (the first day I could drive the one hour up to their hospital). Dr. Pearson examined L.C. and agreed that the tumor was about the hemorrhage (which we had already seen) and that L.C. probably had just a few more days at best. She said she would try and remove the tumor but was very up front that it might not have a good outcome which I highly appreciated. She quoted a very reasonable price (frankly not much more than I've spent to get shots, teeth and exams done in San Diego). Dr. Pearson successfully removed the tumor without incident and L.C. is on the mend. We couldn't be more happy. We've used a number of vets in our 25 years of having dogs and I would say Dr. Pearson was able to give us the greatest treatment we've ever had.

I took my cat to see Pearson because I suspected he had ear mites. Pearson told me, she needed to anesthetize him to take a sample from each ear and look under a microscope to confirm the diagnosis. At the end of the procedure, she told me he had mites and suggested a 4 week treatment plan, ear antibiotics and a shot once a week for 4 weeks. At the end of the 4th week he was still scratching and shaking his head, so she gave him a 5th shot. He was still experiencing the same symptoms, so I took him in for a 6th visit. Pearson then told me, he must have ear wax and prescribed drops. Two weeks later, I was at another vet and asked him a few questions about ear mites. He asked me, if my cat was an indoor/outdoor cat? I said, indoor. His next question was do you have any other cats? I said no. He then told me, there is absolutely NO WAY my cat had mites and that it must be ear wax. So, I spent close to $500 and had my cat subjected to toxic injections for NOTHING more than ear wax.

After reading the horror stories from other pet parents I have decided to contact the California State Board, the Better Business Bureau, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, and every pet advocacy group I can find. In my opinion, this woman needs her license revoked. If you love your pets as I do, DO NOT TAKE THEM to see this woman!

I totally disagree with the bad reviews. I'm a Bulldog / Frenchy breeder for 22 years now and have used Dr. Pearson as my vet with co-owners who live in the greater San Diego area.

She's a good vet with great skills as a surgeon. What more can you ask for?

I trust her with valuable and much loved dogs of mine and those of people I've sold puppies to, never a complaint from these referrals and I'd be the first to know.

What I like most is that she's a participant in your dogs health care, not a dictator who treats at will with no consideration to your impute. With Dr. Pearson, your part of a team and she's the expert you're relying on.

After adopting our puppy, we took her to Pearson Animal Hospital to be spayed. During prep for the operation, Dr. Pearson located an abdominal incision consistent with the puppy already being spayed. Dr. Pearson proceeded to operate without contacting us first. It turns out our puppy had already been spayed. Dr. Pearson deliberately performed an unnecessary surgical procedure on our dog because "she had already put our pup under anesthesia." Dr. Pearson also admitted she "did not look at the medical record" prior to operating. When we picked up our puppy, Dr. Pearson did not provide us with any pain medication or a cone to prevent licking. When we asked for our money back because we had to take our pup to another vet for medications and antibiotics, Dr. Pearson insinuated we were insensitive and only cared about the money. When asked to refund our money, she stated, "that will definitely not happen." HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! If you love your pet, STAY AWAY!!!

My Vet moved to TX and I was scrambling to locate a Vet in the area that I could entrust my companions with. I found Dr Pearson and felt she has given personal care and sound service to the continued health of my 4 legged kidz! Thank you!

I just moved to San Marcos. I discovered bumps on my dog. They are obviously allergies. Called a couple vets to compare fees. Dr. Pearsons office was pretty cheap compared to others.

Ok, Whenever I did my research and I found that this vet came up several times as being highly recommended. The highest recommndation comming from the Human Society. Meaning that the Humane society of San Marcos goes uses Dr. Pearson as one of their primary vets. Based on this, I have taken my cats to be treated their and never once had any problems. Those of you complaining about how expensive it was, there are other options to help cover the cost of pets. For example, pet insurance. Though, because I saw that the humane society's recommendation and that to them, I was able to save several hundreds of dollars on getting my youngest fixed. To the rest of you, there is this thing called a getting a second o mentioned pinion. Also, Keep in mind that vets are human too. Humans, are notorious for making mistakes. On the side note, It is harder to become a vet then it is to become a doctor. just to let you dumb a#$' know.

I LOVE THIS VET! DONT READ HATE REVIEWS – This vet is the best i have ever gone too. The staff are amazing and helpful always, Dr. Pearson is awesome herself, I love that she gives you options and not just tell you that there is only one option and it has to be paid for oops i mean done. NO other vet can compare to there prices, they are the cheapest around and if you find cheaper they are more then happy to match prices for you. I never need and appointment and the wait is never long. I have been going to this vet for years and never ever had an issue with them, i refer all my family and friends and they all say the same thing, its cheap and the care from the staff and Dr. is great. So for all you HATERS just go back to the vet you left in the first place because you only see things how you are, not openly. So have fun paying up the A** with some other Dr. while I stay with Dr. Pearson and save money and know my animals are being well taken care of.

Worst vet ever! – My dog Marley was born without a spinal bone right behind his trachea. He did not show any signs or symptoms of the missing bone till he was over a year of age. By this time Marley was partially paralyzed. He was not able to perform simple functions such as squating to poop or pee. He would avoid eating and drinking water because of the pain. He always seemed out of energy. We decided to take Marley to Dr. Pearson by a friend reference. We did not re search any reviews because all we wanted for our family member was to get better. Dr. Pearson prescribed Marley about 6 different prescriptions of drugs, one containing steroids which she claimed "will numb his pain" also that "it will help him walk". BS. Marley was still in the same condition that he was in before we took him to Person. Not only was Marley so drugged up he couldn't keep his balance what so ever but Pearson could'nt even explain what was wrong with him even after $300 worth of x-rays. We later took Marley to a different vet. Took Marley's x-rays and right then and there the doctor pointed out his missing spinal bone. Doctor explained to our family that Marley needed surgery right away or else any sudden movement can cause his spinal disc to slip and Marley would pass away suddenly. Unfortunately a week before we were able to come up with the money before his surgery he passed away. Our family and I miss Marley dearly. I choose to write this review because not only was Dr. Pearson not able to identify a missing spinal bone in 7 clear and x-rays but she fed our family lies about having an inflamed spine. She gave us prescription to give Marley that honestly did not help him what so ever. We spent nearly a month taking Marley to this un-professional and un-experienced vet when we could have simply gone to the other pet hospital and had time to gather money for Marley's surgery. Because of the time wasted at this vet we have lost our beloved family member. The baby of the family that we had spoiled with love. I would never recommend anyone to take their pets to Dr. Pearson. Not only because I have read all of these awful, heartbreaking reviews but because my family and I also have experienced the worst with this vet.

Dr. Pearson, if you or your staff are ones who have stumbled across my review I give you all the right to call me personally on my cell phone so I can express my hate and anger towards you and your un-proffesional staff.
