Consistent Product/Service – I have visited the Vizcaya Restaurante & Tapas Bar on several occasions. Each visit I experienced the same courteous service and quality cuisine. I have met the owner and chef, Felix Piedra, and respect his passion for cooking and his rapport with the patrons. I do not make recommendations unless the product or service exceeds my expectations. I recommend the Vizcaya Restaurante & Tapas Bar to all my friends and family.

Awesome place!! – I really enjoyed my experience there for lunch today. The server was very kind and gracious to me, especially since I got stood up by my date. He offered me a complimentary drink which was very kind of him. I had the special - veal with mushrooms in a delicious sauce with a side of asparagus and spanish rice. It came with a delicious white bean type soup. The food and service was wonderful - definitely worth the drive (even though I was stood up!)

North Tampa's hidden Gem – I am in love with this restaurant! I've been going there ever since it opened. It is so refreshing to have a non-chain restaurant in the Carrollwood area. The expansive menu is filled with the most interesting tapas and entrees. I love the scallops, the seafood salad, the grouper, the sweetbreads and I could go on and on and on.

Its definitely worth driving to Carrollwood if you want great quality ingredients made in creative and interesting ways!

Good Food TERRIBLE Service – The environment is quite nice. I was with a group of 10 friends. The waiter took our drink orders and told us he does not do separate checks. Then he ordered our food. We wanted apps and main courses. He told us it would come out of the kitchen as it was cooked. I got my main course before my app!! I wish I would have known that I was going to have to hunt down the waiter for a drink refill so I could have rationed it out!!! When the check came, 10 people had to figure out how much oney they owed and we paid various forms of payment. The waiter returned with our credit card slips and proceeded to tell us that tip wasn't included and we hadn't tipped him!!! The truth was he charged one of my friends $2.30 instead of $23.00 and the tips from the credit cards hadn't been added yet either. He never thanked us for not screwing him out of the $18. Very arrogant!! The food was delicious, service was terrible and I will never go back again.

Update: The owner of Vizcaya contacted a member from our group and apologized. The terrible waiter is no longer working there for obvious reasons. Knowing this, I would return and try again because the food was yummy!!!

Great food, great service! – The food was excellent. We tried about eight of the various tapas and all were delicious. Our server was very friendly and made excellent suggestions and was generally enjoyable. The sangria was very good. We were there on a Thurs night and I would like to have seen more people to up the amp of the atmospohere a bit - but I don't know what its like on a Friday or Sat.

Vizcaya Valentines 2009 Review – This was our first visit to the Vizcaya. The salad, tapas, and Sangria were wonderful; however, the entree (Chilean Sea Bass) was served lukewarm and bordering on under cooked. I asked to have it warmed and it came back just slightly warmer (I felt a little more comfortable that it might have been thoroughly cooked).

The salad although good, was served on a black (contemporary) plate that reflected fingerprints all around the edges in the dim lighting...how romantic. (?)

I eat Chilean Sea Bass rarely (once a year tops) and am always so thrilled with this fish...Not this time!! There was nothing special about how this fish was dressed (consider a crusting,,,macademian/almonds??). The room temperature Sea Bass was a big white blob on my big white plate,,not appetizing.

My overall impression was that the Vizcaya typically does very nice Tapas and Sangria but lacks experience in the ""entree"" side of the menu. If that is true, perhaps that is what you should limit the Valentine Menu to.

this is the best food in Tampa !! – we came here for my birthday and just love everything about this restaurant !! The food and the service were superb!! We will recomend it to our friends and family. Can't wait to go back for the tapas and the Sangria !! By far the best ! We just got back from New York and please trust me this is the best trully Spanish restaurant that we have been to.Everybody was so nice to us !!

one of the best in tampa – We have been to this restaurant on many diferent ocasions, me and my wife and also with some friends. We have always had very pleasant experiences.We dine all over town and because of my job I've been very lucky to travel all over Europe and the States and havehad the oportunity of enjoying very creative and excepcional food around the world. Vizcaya is one of our very favorites when we are in town. It is a small cozy restaurant with a very creative menu and the food is just incerdible. Always fresh and the chef everytime we go ,there is new stuff in the menu. Diferent sauces that are just delicious. Everybody is very nice and Chef Felix always comes to the table to say Hi ! he is always walking around the dining room greating people and making sure everything is just perfect. The waiters are very personal and always willing to help.

Best Afternoon Ever, Vizcaya exceeded our expectations, We would highly recommend. – We arranged with the Owner Felix to have a baby shower at this quaint local restaurant.

We had over 30 Guest (couples) and everyone had a wonderful time. The meal was

a success with all of our guest. The menu started with an assortment of appetizers that were all delicious.

Our guest ordered a variety of entree?s. They chose from Fish, Chicken and Paella. Everyone was quite pleased with there choices. The entree?s were presented well and the taste was exceptional?

We then moved on to desserts ? One of our family favorites ? Flan ? It brought back memories?.

Just like abuela?s.

Felix was very gracious and helpful... his staff greeted us at the door and worked very hard

to make this a very memorable experience.

The group would like to give kudos to the Chef and Staff ? Don?t miss the sangria ? it is the Best in Tampa?.

Real Spanish Food – We went on a Friday night. Got there around 6:30 and the place started getting busy after we got our drinks. I have never had a better octopus dish anywhere! It tasted like lobster. We will be going back to try more of the menu.
