In reference to "M B", below. First let me address the "5 dogs" on the roof, as the story keeps changing. It was two dogs, MY personal dogs that climbed out a window while I was cleaning. I used to work for AC, and believe me; I am far from an irresponsible pet owner. My dogs have never been loose and it was a freak accident. You never even spoke to anyone at the hospital about it, as the only person we spoke to was a friend of Dr. Eaton's and it was NOT taken lightly. I was in tears and frantic as I called my dogs back in the building, as they NEVER leave my sight. And no, you never have to do everything recommended. When you go into a car shop and they give you a list of what your car needs, do you have to do everything? No. I have sat in on several appointments with you. We give you a breakdown of what we would do as pet owners. We never force an owner to do anything, however most are appreciative of our attention to detail and how thorough we are, especially when it comes to someone’s sick dog. I can't begin to count the number of things a "full workup" has caught that just basic care would have missed, life saving catches I may add. I wish you and your two Shih Tzu's the best and AHOP will continue to provide quality and thorough care for our patients.
Had visit over the weekend a loved the staff and the cleanliness of the hospital. The entire staff was friendly and professional. Their recommendations were spot on and my pet is doing much better. Thank you for the great work and for helping my little buddy.
BEWARE!! After being a client at AHOP for a little over 3 years, I have finally decided to take my business elsewhere. My boarding experiences were horrendous and my dog smelled terrible every time we brought him home. AHOP brought in new boarding management and offered me a night of free boarding. No Thanks! Glad I didn't take that offer, because I continue seeing reviews about bad boarding experiences. We also experienced the unnecessary treatment/shots like other reviewers. When questioned, I was told "you don't have to do every treatment option we recommend." If it were optional, they should have said so at the time of the recommendation!! My final straw was unreturned phone calls and seeing several dogs on their roof all in the same week (July 4th). The response to the dogs on the roof was nonchalant and brushed off. Apparently, the person who lives in the apartment upstairs left the window open and the dogs got out and were wondering around on the roof. I saw it first hand and even got pictures. It was taken lightly with no real concern. Needless to say, my dog has her annual vaccination exam with her new veterinarian tomorrow morning!!
I DO NOT recommend this establishment.
After a 3 day boarding, a white maltese is returned yellow, covered in urine, and his bed is soaked and crusted in urine, along with feces underneath the internal pillow. INCREDIBLE.
I am more troubled that others have had this happen and complained over a year ago, and apparently nothing has been done to mitigate this issue. I would also warn folks that they have vaccines you must get prior to boarding. No other facility in the state that we could find requires these, and they come out to about $100.
I appreciated the refund for boarding costs, but would prefer not having the experience. I can't recommend an establishment in the animal care business who did not take care of our pet for a short 3 day period.
Animal Hospital of Polaris is great! They are not our normal vet, but I had to bring bothf our dogs in this am for some issues. The staff was very accomodating and wonderful. We will be back!
Great and fast service! Staff has been extremely helpful and pleasant at every appointment to date. They are open later than normal practices which works well with my schedule
Wonderful staff! The doctors and staff at Animal Hospital of Polaris are very professional and provide only the best service using advanced medicine and technology.
Should be reported to Animal Control – Let me start by saying I didn't want to give this place any stars but this site is requiring me to put something. We brought our dog here to be boarded for a week. We were returning one day early so we called that morning to let them know we'd be picking her up that evening. When we picked her up, the front desk worker told me I was paying for 6 nights and a bath and gave me my total. They brought my dog out and she looked wet so i figured they had just bathed her but when we got her in the car we realized that was not the case. What looked like wet fur was urine soaked fur that had sat so long it was dry. We brought her home and gave her a bath and the water ran yellow. It was horrible to think that our dog had been sitting in her own urine for what seemed to be several days. My husband took the receipt and headed right back. They said she was scheduled for a bath the following morning but since we came early she didn't get one. Yet they still charged us. Their resolution was to offer to credit our $20 for the bath and to give her a bath for free. Seriously?? No thank you! Even the manager couldn't offer any more and they were less than apologetic. The following two days our dog suffered from a cough and once that went away she started suffering from diarrhea which we are still trying to cure. Please, take my word, DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG HERE!!!!!
They have been GREAT – I have nothing but positive comments about the staff and the doctors. I had my dog in who after I took her home had a reaction to the shots given. They stayed late for me and even called me the next day to see how she was doing. Unheard of...
I also have a bearded dragon and they were upfront and honest about not specializing in the care of dragons but the vet got on the phone with me, did some research and called me back with answers.
She offered to exam my dragon but gave me the name of a vet that specializes in this. I was impressed and do not think that it is all about the money with them.
Any vet visit is expensive, they on both occasions were upfront with the cost before they treated my animals. Animals are expensive and I think people dont take that in account before they buy them.
If there is a question ask for the price before the appointment, I am confident that my animals get the care they need, and as a vet it is their job to recommend the best care that can be given. The ultimate decision maker is you. I don't put a price on mine.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your positive comments and are thankful for your patronage. If there is anything we can do for you or your four legged family please let us know. Thank you again.
