Terrible food and service – our family loves to dine out. We do not mind to pay high prices if there are good quality of food and services. Unfortunately, Sydney's charges high prices, but there are no value of the food. On top of that, we experience poor services. The hostess is extremely rude. By the way, you need to wear mask when going into bathroom, it really stinks. Totally rip off. They used to have a sign outside the front door on prices. They have removed it out now. So depends on the weather, you don't know how much they are going to charge you.
Bad badplace – They are stricct Chinese people. Charge us $30 while the sign say only $14.99 if it was $30 I woulnd't even had came.so they made false statement. No servies they force us to pay a $20 tip while we were md aththe $30 price already. No serivicee we even had to pay tipp. Only 2 people me and my wifei
We were treated horribly – These people are a joke. We went at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon. They were still "serving" lunch. We were told when we went in that dinner began at 3:30. OK - great! We paid our $13.99 and were surprised that many items were gone. Nothing there. Tongs had been removed from the fruit, there were two desserts out...etc. 3:30 came and they were unbelievable. We went back to the bar and were told that we couldn't eat that because it wasn't on the lunch menu. We told them that there was barely anything out from 3:00 - 3:30 and they just kept watching us and coming to our table to make sure we didn't eat anything from the "dinner" bar. My suggestion to them is to CLOSE THE RESTAURANT for an hour or two and replenish instead of badgering people and making them pay $13.99 for nealry nothing. We were insulted, frustrated and hungry and you can bet your next paycheck that will be the last restaurant we will go to. We will never go back again. They are rude, inconsiderate and money hungry. If they don't want you to eat their food, they should close after lunch and re-open. We were very disappointed!
Out of business like bad Alpharetta location soon will be. – They try fill you & get you out. No variety and not fresh (some even still frozen!) Only few piece each sushi out for ENTIRE restuarant, so you limited or give up after wait. "Compressed rice ball with tiny fish" is old trick. REAL sushi has medium riceball not compressed, completely covered with medium not seethru sashimi. Their gunkanmaki filled with compressed rice hidden by TINY fish. Nonsushi food ok but then just go to cheap China buffet.
Rude Servers, False Advertising, Tips is a must even if not earned – Was very poorly treated by servers but luckly she only spent a few moments with us being that she ignored us most of the night. the food was not as extensive as they had advertised the stake bar was not in service. The people bad mouthed and cursed us in Chinese not realizing that my friend spoke fluently.
you'd waste your money and will feel like you are beggars instead of well paying customers. avoid at all costs!!!!
Best asian buffet around – I would highly recommend Sydney's buffet. I have been there about five or six times. Excellent food & service.
They have some of the freshest sushi around especially when it comes to a buffet. The other buffets can't compare. The food quality is way above the norm for a buffet. They have a huge selection, from seafood to noodle bowls, to the grill for a steak or ribs. The ribs are the best if choosing between a steak or the ribs. It is well worth the price $17.95 for dinner. It is only $3 or $4 more than most chinese buffets, but with a bigger food selection and much better quality. They have something for everyone. The service has been excellent every time. My glass is constantly filled and they are always there to pick up your dirty plates. You do not have one wait-staff servicing your table. They work as a team & wander around looking to see if anyone needs anything. Much better service this way. Restaurants should take a queue from this type of customer service. I will continue going to Sydney's for a long time.
Not nearly as good as advertised – Went there for their lunch buffet. Although the selection was large, the food was pretty terrible. You know a place has mediocre to poor quality seafood when almost everything on display is spicy. Nigiri had the consistency of shoe leather. The sushi rice tasted like gum. Their teriyaki was flavored and chewy like La Choy. If you like sushi and Japanese food, I strongly suggest you avoid this place. I should have known it was a bad idea when not a single Asian person was in attendance.
