best consignment store in town – I Went to Oh Bella today and found the most beautiful outfit, actually it was so fabulous that I wore it out of the store feeling like a new woman. I thought everyone should know about this gem of a store so I hopped on city search to tell everyone and read the reviews before posting this. The most recent review complains that the sales girl wouldn?t let the customers boyfriend take the outfit off mannequin...Curious, does any store allow customers take clothes off the mannequin, just try to go to Nordstrom and do that, they will shoo you out of the store. I recommend this store to anyone who wants the highest fashion at a fraction of the price.
Don't touch the mannequin! Boyfriends beware. – My girlfriend was shopping at Oh Bella September 6, 2008, and towed me behind her. I think I?m a pretty good sport when it comes to standing around and waiting for her to try things on, ask my opinion, and question whether I really think something looks however I say it does. Unfortunately, this store is staunchly anti-boyfriend, and there was no room for me to stand and nod. (Seriously, this place is tiny.)
When my girlfriend wanted to try on the dress that sat on the small mannequin in the window, she asked the busy-looking clerk if she could do so and I began to disrobe the faux model ? because I was bored, and because the clerk looked busy. I?ve worked retail before, where I learned how to dress and undress mannequins (not that hard!), and where I was constantly pulled in a million directions by crazy bosses and rude shoppers. I appreciated those rare customers who understood that they could, say, search through a stack of shirts for a size whatever just as easily as I could, and only interrupted me when they actually needed my assistance.
This clerk, however, rushed toward me saying something like, ?No, no! Let me do it! You?ll break the window!? And then she sighed. No pretend "Thanks, but let me get that for you," or a smile or anything. I flung up my hands and served the rest of my sentence standing on the sidewalk so that I would not break the store.
In conclusion, my girlfriend liked the clothes, but I was miffed that this lady talked to me as though I were a child coloring on her walls. I tried to figure out how I could possibly break the window by undressing the mannequin and still have no idea.
Editorial Review – Roosevelt consignment shop sells everything from vintage 50s dresses to contemporary designer jeans, all in great condition at great prices.
Great selection, personalized service--an original! – My wife recently went to Oh Bella where Ronnie, the owner, spent some quality time with her choosing six different outfits. All of the outfits are great--they fit very well, show off my wife's great figure (that she had been hiding), and are of very nice quality. My wife got some great bargains on some very fashionable outfits, from casual to formal, elegant evening wear to shipdeck chic, all in the space of a short afternoon of shopping. Ronnie seemed to really understand clothing, fashion, and most importantly, what looks great on my wife. Where else are you going to find all that in one quaint little shop in the big city?! Three cheers for Ronnie's customer service, helpful attitude and shrewd judge of fashion. We will shop there again and again.
Quality and fashion without breaking the bank – Don't let Oh Bella's small store front fool you. The owner, Ronnie, stocks her shop with many fashionable, quality pieces. There are designer labels, one-of-the-kind clothing, designer jeans, shoes, accessories, you name it. And they won't break your bank. Turn-over is very fast so there are always new things in the store.
I don't go to other consignment places anymore because at Oh Bella I can easily find clothes I like without sorting through big piles of not very desirable pieces. Plus Ronnie is always happy to give you her fashion inputs and tells you whether the piece looks good on you or not (if you ask.) I've got many items from her shop that I wear a lot and receive a lot of compliments. My friends and co-workers were envious. I love it!
