PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS JUNK – ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BBQ IN WASHINGTON STATE!!!!! click on my avatar and look at the pictures of his food. look at the pictures you'll see for yourself. Ribs are mostly fat. red beans and rice were a solid gloppy mess that stood up by itself when out of the bowl. it was like trying to eat paste. the corn muffin was underdone and nasty. cost me almost $20 for this then to top it off I went there looking for my favorite place. Casper's and the owner told me that it was "better than casper's. what a lie. the BBQ sauce tasted like store bought with way too much liquid smoke in it. I ended up going to casper's on aurora and they actually gave me a free meal of wonderful ribs after hearing that Willie tried to compare his to casper's. the entire meal went in the garbage as should every bit of food in that place. YUK!!!!
A Good Shack! – Yup, WIlly's is a small shack on Lake City Way. It doesn't have great atmosphere or an attentive staff (yes, I really mean small and I really mean shack!) Fortunately, it *does* have good, solid, yummy BBQ which makes *excellent* take-out food. The brisket is amazing, and even the 'regular' sauce has quite a kick. Greens and potato salad are good sides. (I never branched out from them, they meet my needs!)
I've heard rumors of cold food and the like, but I've always found it to be warm+ if I eat it straight away. (And if you take my recommendation and plan on doing a lot of take-out, then reheating will be a breeze anyway!) The only exception to the warm+ thing is the cornbread which is served cold -- but it's tasty when its cold so you won't hear me complaining!
Don't even BOTHER! – I went there tonight with my mother and partner, expecting to have some great ribs or brisket. I got the brisket, with yams and beans. BAD news! ALL three were cold, the brisket was SO fatty that I literally through a cup of it away, and the bbq sauce was cold too. The cornbread comes wrapped in plastic, no butter, cold, no honey. My mom/partner got the ribs and they were also cold. They were thin, with not much meat on them at all. And to top it off, dinner for three of us was $40! The guy that works there was also PATHETIC when it comes to customer service, he didn't give a hoot that we were there. Next time, we're gonna go to Jones' BBQ or somewhere reputable. Bummer, I live in this neighborhood and would have loved a good BBQ place, but this isn't it. Save your money and go somewhere else. Also, there's seating by the window, four spots looking out on Lake City way, that's it.
