In response to DON'T DO IT! by Swyers – In response to Swyers, I would like to address these issues head on and hopefully resolve any issues that are still around.



Our contract does state the you are able to pay 60% and the balance is to be paid with-in 60 days. However when receiving a discount we request that full payment be made. As your bridesmaids did receive 10% off of their gowns we did ask for full payment and that is our policy.

The gown that she was interested in had been sold from the store and was no longer a sample in the store. Before the order was placed I showed the MOB the picture of the gown and confirmed the color that she wanted to order. Everyone that purchases a gown in our store is given a receipt to confirm their order with the exact style number and color. The customer then confirms that they are ordering what they want by agreeing to the contract.

When the gown arrived , I never was rude to her And assured her that with the proper alterations and undergarments that the gown would fit properly. I at that time was not aware that she thought it was the wrong dress. After she asked if it was the right dress, I checked the computer to ensure that the right dress had been ordered and confirmed that with her. She never told me she didn

In response to DON'T DO IT! MSUjosh – Let me make everyone understand what is going on here. SOME of what Josh is saying is correct and I will not argue that...others is not exactly on point.

Discount & Contract: What does getting a discount have anything to do with full payment up front? I pulled my contract and it does not state ANYWHERE that because we received a discount that we have to pay full price, NOR does it state we had to pay full price up front before the order can be processed!

The full contract states the following:

Due to the nature of this purchase, I agree that ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND THERE ARE NO CANCELLATIONS, EXCHANGES, or REFUNDS made on anything I purchase in this store. I agree to make full payment within 60 days from the date of purchase. Alternations ARE NOT included in the price of the garment (s). Our Bridal Consultants will suggest a size based on the manufactureres chart. However, the final decision on selecting a size is yours. We are NOT responsible for any manufacturer's error, dye lot variations or delays beyond our control. However, we will do our best to work the manufacturer. BRIDESMIADS DRESSES WILL BE ORDERED WHEN ALL BRIDESMAIDS IN THE BRIDAL PARTY HAVE LEFT THEIR DEPOSIT. Merchandise not picked up within 10 days after event date becomes the property of The Perfect Dress. Customer looses all rights to merchandise and deposit. I agree to the measurements taken at point of purchase and I'm soley responsible for maintaining these measurements.

The bride, MOB AND MOG had to pay full price and they did not get a discount. When I was married 5 years ago, I bought my gown from The Perfect Dress. It was a great experience! I paid 1/2 for my gown when I ordered and when I picked up my dress I paid the balance. I understand that things change(AND STAFF) in 5 years(if this is the case) but that is unacceptable. Tara stated to the bride that "policy states payment is required in full before placing the order." THIS IS OUR FAULT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T READ IT THAT DAY!

Other issues we found out (once we found a seamstress at the last minute).... My gown was extremely long and uneven. The front was longer than the back but this could be fixed. The MOH gown was too short and the right side was longer than the left. This now means she had to go out and buy new shoes and her dress is shorter than the rest of ours. If I knew this I would have switched gowns with her but her appointment with the seamstress was after I already went and at a different location. Josh will probably argue that she wasn't there to try on the dress because I picked them all up. Yes, this is correct but even if she was there to try it on, they couldn't have fixed it in time whether it was ordered by 6/15 or 7/5.

THE BIGGEST ISSUE! The color swatch for the bridesmaid gowns are COMPLETELY different from the color of the gowns she chose. So now this means.......last evening when we went to ChazMaTaz, the vests did not match the color swatch we gave them. Now ChazMaTaz is getting us new vests in 24 hours. Thank you! Highly recommend them! They are located in MarketFair on Route 1 in Princeton, NJ.

The issues with the MOB gown will be addressed soon,.

RUDE RUDE RUDE – I am a bridesmaid and all the bridesmaids purchased dresses at The Perfect Dress. I am not happy with my dress or how my order was handled. When I called to speak with manager Tara, she was sarcastic and very rude. I've never seen a manager less willing to work with an unhappy customer. She literally said "We didn't put a gun to your head to buy that dress..." I am in 3 more weddings this year and getting married myself next Aug. Needless to say I will never let a single person I know come back to this shop and neither will I

As a Wedding Planner, I would NOT recommend this store – ‎I am a wedding planner in Central Jersey and have recommended this bridal shop previously, but I would NEVER let one of my brides or their bridal party come to Perfect Dress again.

I recently became a customer as a bridesmaid for my cousins wedding. I don't find it neccessary to let the shop know what my profession is since they should treat all customers with the same regaurd.

Although I am a size 2 in street clothes, the sales woman recommended I get a size 12 dress. According to their measurements some how my size 2 hips could only fit into a size 12 dress. I know all dress must be altered so I agreed. But this particular design was a halter top with intricate pleating at the chest and close to imposable to alter with out taking the whole dress apart. As professionals they should have understood how complicated this top was, a size 12 with DD cups would never work for me. I went to three separate seamstresses and they all said it would take countless hours and close to $200 to alter. The dress itself is worth $200. $400 is an unacceptable amount to spend on this type of bridesmaids dress.

I called the store to let them know what these seamstresses have told me and the manager told me some how all the seamstresses had no idea what they were talking about and just trying to con me. She said to take the dress to their recommended seamstress. The seamstress took in 3 inches on each side and said there was nothing she could do about the top with out taking the whole dress apart. The Perfect Dresses own seamstress told me I should just buy a new dress because this will never fit me correctly, just too big. She did take the sides in and had to pull the fabric so much that the pleats are distorted and sticking straight up instead of laying flat like the design calls for.

As a business woman in a client based business myself, I always hope that if my customers are unhappy that they come to me and allow me to fix the problem. I called the store and spoke to the manager Tara and she told me its not her fault I didn't want to spend the money to fix the problem. Although the problem was they ordered a dress 8 sizes too big and reassured me over and over again that altering it would be no problem at all. I do not find it surprising at all to see another bad review for her below since she was quite sarcastic with me as well.

Now that I know how they treat customers I will not be recomending them to my customers again. I also plan to let the other wedding planners in New Jersey that I work closely with, know about my experience.

An OK bridal experience – If you're looking for a Mon Cheri gown, this is the place for you. If you're not a fan of heavily beaded cinderella style dresses, it is probably not.
