We love the sushi – My wife and myself enjoy eating here at least once a month. The prices are also reasonable.

Overall, best sushi in new orleans metro – this place has a great sushi menu (I never order much of the cooked food, so cannot say, but who really goes to a sushi bar for chicken teriyaki?) with tons of special rolls that are all super good. They have good soups, the dressing on their ginger salad is even good, and their portions are very generous, unlike the other local sushi bars, not to name names, but places that may or may not be located on Veterans near Causeway... Their prices, as well, are excellent, ESPECIALLY considering the portion sizes. The only potential drawback is atmosphere - they don't LOOK super fancy inside or out, and if you're on a date and feel like you wanna go somewhere fancier looking, then you might not choose this particular place, although honestly a good date who likes sushi would totally appreciate this place above and beyond the other places in town. Far and away my favorite in New Orleans for overall value and quality. Occasionally I will go other places for specialty cravings, since each place typically has something the other ones don't, but my regular stop is ALWAYS Little Tokyo on Causeway.
Our Place – My boyfriend and I had our first date here - it is my favorite sushi restaurant and one of my favorite restaurants in general. We normally order veggie tempura as an appetizer (always good, their tempura is NEVER soggy) and some sort of soup. I normally get clear soup, which is great here. We've been going down the list of their hand rolls trying new things - their special rolls are HUGE but they always taste good. So far the best has been the geisha roll, its very pleasing to the eye, and has a sweetish taste. The atmosphere is very homey, and the wait staff knows us by sight now (also, you always see people sitting at the sushi bar chatting with the chefs). One of the best things about the place is that its open late - till around 11 or so. Sometimes Little Tokyo is quiet and not crowded, and other times its packed and noisy... you can never tell, and it attracts a huge variety of age ranges and groups. Little Tokyo is definitely "our place" now, and it would be the first place I recommend to someone who is new to sushi or sushi restaurants in New Orleans.
One-stop sushi eatery does it all--from solid basics to frilly specialties. – The Scene
With its airy, bamboo-laden decor, soothing Eastern music and quick service, Little Tokyo is a favorite lunch spot among Metairie business folk. It's also popular as a dinner eatery for Japanese families.
Appetizer standards such as edamame (steamed soy beans) and ginger-dressed salads prep the palate for more adventurous creations like smoked salmon and cream cheese tempura, which is lightly battered and deep-fried. More exotic choices include shiitake mushrooms with oyster sauce and "Godzilla" (actually ostrich) steak. Several varieties of tempura, beef and chicken teriyaki and sushi samplers are offered in combination dishes for those who can't decide on any one thing. A la carte sushi and sashimi offerings--from tuna and salmon to eel and quail egg toppings--are always an option for wandering palates. Hand rolls are an extremely popular option.
Little Tokyo – This is my favorite sushi restaurant. The staff is very nice and recognize their regulars. I would suggest the Tokyo appetizer. It is so delicious (cucumber wrapped snow crab) and the prices are great. For those who do not like seaweed in their rolls, their soy bean wraps are only $.50 compared to $1.00 at most other places. There is NEVER a problem with parking and the staff is very professional and accomodating. They never skimp on the ingredients either.
