I go to Vinny's all the time and I've never had a bad experience. Everyone is so friendly there and they do the best to make you satisfied. I love the Blackened Chicken Primavera! Its sooooo good. Whenever I get take-out, the cashiers are very friendly on the phone and at the counter. The management has always been helpful and friendly and I'm glad that they are here in Hillsborough so I don't have to drive far for good Italian food.
My experience had been pretty good up until recent events. Whatever happened to good customer service? Since there are only a few restaurants located in Hillsborough,, I think this is one that gets regular business and with that in mind, their customer base may be steady. However, given the other reviews of bad customer service, understandingly so, i don't think their good standing will last long if they continue to treat their customers with disrespect.
I ordered a takeout dish today and when I returned to the office I found ingredients missing. When I called to inform them of the mistake, they asked me what did I want to do about it and I asked what they would be willing do since I could not return it, not enough time remaining on my break. The manager was then put on the phone and his reply to me was "So, can't you eat it the way it is” in such a condescending way. I told him I guess I would have to if I wanted to satisfy my hunger. He then made some lame suggestion that PERHAPS the next time I come in they would give you a free drink or something.
Everyone makes mistakes, I can deal with that, but his blatantly arrogant remarks about the situation was definitely inexcusable, along with a lame attempt to satisfy the situation was totally inexcusable. Especially since I am; excuse me, I WAS a repeat customer. I refuse to pay to get treated poorly. Vinny's, you just lost another good customer today and sad part about it is, you probably don't care.
Nice place and good food – Oh my GOSH...this place has the most addictive bread, then the salads are excellent, love the chicken piccata
GREAT food AND service!! – My wife and I have been regulars for 5 years and we are always very happy with the entire experience, the staff is friendly and you wont find better Italian food around here, we are thankfull to have vinnys because not only they serve great food but they help the community of Hillsborough in many ways.
Its frustrating to read other reviews that are based on a single experience and viciously posted twice. its sad with sites like this, people only wanna post their negative experiences, and you dont hear the good near as much; and that goes for any restaurant, not just vinnys.
Made us sick – My husband and I ordered two take-out pizzas. We got VERY sick. We called the store the next day to tell them their pizza made us sick (not even asking for our money back) and the manager told us to call the owner. We had to wait two days, but did. Called the owner, who was rude. Said we were the only people to complain, so it couldn't have been their pizza. Didn't apologize, offer a future discount, anything. Poor customer service, waste of money, and awful pizza. Too bad since we live right by there and love to eat at local eateries.
Warning!! Stay away from this place!!!!!! – My wife, and I finally decided to try this place, after hearing mixed reviews. BIG mistake. We ordered take-out. First off, the food was awful. I ordered a cheese steak sandwich. It tasted like it came from a vending machine. It had a very weird taste. I could only get two bites down. My wife got a stromboli. The crust looked nice and brown, but inside the veggies were raw and unseasoned. The worst part about the food was the so-called marinara sauce. It was somewhere between tomato paste and off-brand ketchup. Really BAD! Anyway, my wife took one bite, of her dish, and that was it. We boxed the food back up, and called Vinnys. I asked to speak to an owner, or manager. I was told the owner would be in the next day. The next day I took the food back . I asked the guy at the counter if I could speak to the owner. The owner came out, and had a real attitude right away. I told him the problems I had with the food, and asked him for ONLY half of my money back. His response was "If, you don't like my food that's your problem. I do not give refunds when people don't like my food." End quote! I have been in the food service industry for twenty six years, including a three year stint as executive chef at a busy resort in Branson MO. I have never heard, of let alone experienced this kind of treatment of a customer, by an OWNER. Do yourself a favor. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Also I am required to give at least one star to post this review. They deserve NO stars!
DANGER!!! DON'T EAT HERE!!!! – I bought a small meaty pizza and a small spinach pizza. The meat pizza made me sicker than I have been in years. I called the manager and he told me to talk to the owner, who told me there was nothing he could do. Even after I gave him half the meat pizza. I told him to eat a slice and experience what it's like to feel terrible for 3 days! No luck. Seems even the onwer doesn't eat his own food.
Great Food and great service! – I've been going to Vinny's for years and still love it. I went last week with family. The food and service continue to be excellent, as always. Complaints about the service and attitude do not sound typical of Vinny's staff. I've only encountered pleasant and efficient staff there. I've eaten mostly pastas, salad and chicken dishes, all prepared just right. The salads are fresh and their Italian dressing is my favorite. I love bringing in their pizza. I'm from Brooklyn and was so pleased to finally have real pizza and good Italian food to eat!

I have been going over some of these reviews and find it upsetting to see so many bad comments about the restaurant. The staff and I try to give 110% to fulfill every customer's every need. All of our food is prepared fresh daily and try to provide a welcoming and pleasant dining atmosphere. If there is any problem while you are dining with us, please do not be afraid to let me or our management know so we can fix the problem as soon as possible. I personally apologize for any previous unpleasant experience and assure you that if you return we will do every thing in our power to give you the best dining experience possible.
