Not great but ok. – Let me start off with that the atmosphere is terrible. You wont want to go here for a romantic dinner. Big windows, tables close together (like a cafeteria), high paneled ceilings. They really need a total revamp of the place. You have a straight view of the waiter section. All 10 waiter/waitress hanging out talking in your view.

Food is ok. We had the pad thai (11.96) and basil rolls (3.50). Chicken in the pad thai was dry and the entire meal lacked flavor. To be honest I have had better pad thai at Pei Wei.

I wont probably wont be back based on atmosphere. IF the food had sold us....maybe I would. Service was great no complaints there. The place was pretty empty around 6:00pm on a Saturday. Reservations not required.

Mixed feelings – Well, I'd like to give this place a better rating based on my entree, but in all fairness there were several disappointing items in our meal. The coconut soup was ok, but it was almost room temperature. The hot tea was cold, seriously. We asked for more hot water and received more luke warm water. Nam Tok Beef appetizer was totally lame; again luke warm, poorly seasoned, lame. Thai iced tea was interesting and good. Chicken Pad Prik was lousy; the chicken was overcooked, sauce was blah. I had the Red Curry Duck and it was really good. The duck was tender and smokey, the red curry sauce was very creamy and tasty. I enjoyed the leftovers too. I might try it again, but not before I try another place. Prices were fair; appetizer $6.95, soup $2.95, duck $16.95, Pad Prik $12.95. Atmosphere was decent, but chilly. Eh...

Thai food!!!! – I go here if I'm too lazy to drive another two miles down University Drive to Twisted Noodles. If Twisted Noodles is extra delicious, this place is just regular delicious. Often my shrimp has been overcooked in meals. Still edible though. But I'd be hard-pressed not to eat a shrimp. The coconut soup is pretty tasty with the lunch specials, but today the mushrooms in it were kind of sad looking. Also, about $2-3 overpriced for what you get . . . and portions of things like Pad Thai could be larger. Also Pad Thai is very sweet, red and saucy. which I don't necessarily prefer, but still good. Curry is a standard curry, nothing very special.

A great place all around – We go a few times a month. Great food, great service. It seems to get busy by 7pm on weekends nights so we go early.

Take your friends, family, date. Not too upscale but not average either. – Having eaten in this restaurant several times now I can, without hesitation recommend it to anyone looking for a good Thai meal. Good food and good atmosphere (even more so now that they've expanded). A nice place to take friends when they come over to visit and you want to eat somewhere that's a little more upscale than your average franchise, but also not stuffy.

I gave it five stars, but if I could have I would have just given it 4 and half. Mainly because I don't think every dish I've tried over the past year have been uniformly good. Not bad mind you, but some dishes just aren't as good as green curry, for example. In any case, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Good food – You can drive by Thai Cafe every day and not realize it's there. It's a random strip mall. But check out the inside. I went on a Sunday night and it was very crowded; I thought it was a good sign. I had the Pad Thai and it was delicious. The prices were okay, nothing special. The atmosphere was also okay but nothing special. But the food is what counts and it's recommended.

Bad Service, Ok food, Expensive – SO, like I said the service was bad and very slow. The food was Ok. However, the price is very high for the type of food they serve and also the neighborhood is not that fancy and so no need to charge people that much.

Ok for Triangle food – Thai Cafe has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. We visited for lunch and had 3 main courses: Thai Fried Rice with BBQ chicken, Pad Thai, and Red Curry noodle with Salmon. Each main course came with a free salad or coconut soup. The salad was just commonfare greens with a japanese like vinegrette ginger dressing, while the coconut soup was sweet and worth just a try for newbies. Fried rice was fine but the chicken tasted like normal grilled chicken with basted sweet BBQ sauce. Pad Thai was very average with huge amounts of sugar.....quite disappointing. The flavor of the curry noodles was passable (a bit on the sweet side again) but the salmon was slightly overcooked. In all, a very average place, but maybe good in terms of triangle standards.

The Best Thai Food in the area!!! – This place is great. We have been going here since soon after it opened and from day 1 it has had the best thai food. Originally, the portion sizes were rediculously big and have since been cut down to nornal sizes (too bad because there was always enough for lunch the next day!!!) The interior is clean and new. The atmosphere is a little stuffy with the snotty Duke customers who need to talk loud enough for everyone to hear them...but if you can tune that out, this palce is A+. It says above that it is not kid friendly....we have taken my daughter here since she was 2 weeks old (literally) and they have always treated her great. I think this place is very kid friendly (they always bring her a butterfly made out of carrots...kinda cool).. All and all..try the food and you will be hooked!!

Excellent Thai - Nice Atmosphere – If your in it for the food, this is the place. Try the cocunut soup and you'll be sold. My wife and I have yet to find a disapointment on the menu. The interior is clean, the service fast, and the food seems authentic Thai.
