Decent sushi – This is my neighborhood sushi restaurant, and I come here whenever I'm in the mood for sushi. Their sushi rolls are consistent and quite tasty. I've had good experiences everytime.

I can understand the complaints of some of the reviewers on the service. Generally I always seat myself and I think maybe they could benefit from a sign indicating to do so since they're generally not busy. As soon as I'm seated I always get a menu quickly enough and the food doesn't take too long to be served. I think the sushi is well priced and their other menu options are good deals (like hibachi meals, always on special)..

I personally like the food and would recommend it, no problem- just don't expect 5 star restaurant service or anything.

Worst Service Ever – I recently visited this location with my sister for lunch. The waitress told us they did not have any straws and someone was out getting some. The resturant had just opened. Once we ordered our drinks it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Then the tea tasted old. The sushi was a little warm. There was no air conditioning in the resturant. My sister also ordered one of the lunch specials. The chicken was tough and did not taste well. When we asked the waitress could we take the order off our ticket. She said " I don't understand no one else has complained so there is nothing wrong with it." She would not remove the $3.95 meal off the ticket. This is not good customer Service. I will not return to this location.

I thought my experience was great. – Despite of the reviews below, I thought my experience here was great. Just recently, I saw that they reduced their prices which made it very affordable. My service was quick, warm and friendly. The hibachi was great, and the shrimp tempura roll was very good as well. I recommend SushiYa to anyone who seeks the taste for great Japanese food!

PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE – When we walked in we were not greeted. We sat ourselves and the table was dirty and sticky, we had to clean it with our napkins. We ordered 2 hibachi dishes and the steak and chicken were not very well cooked, the taste was terrible and on top of that, the rice was old and burnt! the waitress did not come to check on us until the very end of the meal, when we told her all that was wrong with the meal she said that fried rice was supposed to be hard (so hard that it breaks your teeth???) and that the reason why the meal tasted bad was because the chef was new... to top things off we were overcharged!!! please, go somewhere else.

Sushiya Japan- WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! – We walked in & weren't greeted, they saw us come in. There were only 2 people eating in the resteraunt, there was no exuse. We sat ourselves after waiting (not a resteraunt where you seat yourself). You could hardly hear the server, she had no personality or smiles and was just plain rude! She gave us the feeling that we shouldn't be there. The music was all wrong and way too loud. We ordered 2 entres that came with soup and salad. She brought out my entre first instead of the soup and salad...my boyfriends food was about 15min behind mine. We were sitting right in front of the kitchen and when my boyfriend looked into the kitchen he saw another server eating off his plate(dangeling it over her mouth and dropping it in) and our server was right there letting her do it! My boyfriend got up and poked his head in the kitchen and asked if that was his plate and they said, "yes". I guess they didn't realize that he had seen what was going on. My boyfreind said "Ok. Well I just want you to know that I saw you eating off my plate and you can't expect me to pay for this!" The server that ate off our plate walked up to our table and said (with a giggle and a smerk) "I sorry, it's good and I was hungry...you won", she was very rude. Then our server came up and said "We don't do that here" my boyfriend said "you saw her doing it and you allowed it to happen and if I didn't see you would have brought it out anyways". She said they would bring us out another plate, at this point I was so angry I told my boyfriend we should leave and I pushed my food out of the way, put on my jacket and I walked out. My boyfriend wanted to speek with a manager so he stayed inside for about 20min waiting on one to come out and no one showed. We will never go back and will make sure everyone knows not to go there. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a reseraunt in my life!!!!! We couldn't believe it.

WORST SERVICE EVER – Service; VERY POOR - when we asked a couple of questions the waiter told us he also had ot serve other tables ! Was rude when we asked if they could make a custom maki since we were vegetarians. We were 4 of us - they gave us 2 chop sticks, 2 glasses of water and said they were out of cups! The restaurant was half empty and they could not keep up. Also, they did not give us individual plates.

I travel extensively and love sushi - and they most Sushi places ALWAYS can manage to make something for vegetarians. The feeling I got from the staff was that I was in the wrong place and I should leave.

I would certainly NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE... dont care how good the food is ( which by the was was just ok ). We just tried one item and left as soon as we could and went to a tried and tested pizza place nearby.
