OVER PRICED GARBAGE! I was told Miyabi of Fay NC was a good place 2 eat...WRONG! 1st problem made reservations 2 wks in advance still a 45min wait 2 be seated 20min more 4 chef 2 come.Server was rude and rushing us 2 order.Chef catered 2 older white couple like the rest of us were invisible.Guess he asumed the would leave a bigger tip.4 an appetizer we had sodium filled broth and a child size salad.Had no real choice of dressing.Cheapest on the menu was 18 bucks. My date ordered the seafood platter 4 40 bucks.80% rice 20% meat what a disappointment.Basically u pay alot of money 4 a plate full of under cooked rice.I had fish n shrimp 4 18 bucks we both had the same amount of rice(LOL).Not 4 the health conscience.Everything is drowned n butter n salt. All the food was 2 salty(People with blood pressure issues BEWARE).The shrimp was over cooked n rubbery.Fish was dry n salty.U get a small amount of over cooked veggies grilled way before ur meal is cooked.Veggies were cold before ur meal is served(What a joke).I thought grilled food was suppose 2 be somewhat healty(Not here). This is cardiac arrest waiting 2 happen(Need doctors on standby).Parking was horrible n limited. We had 2 park on a service rd behind the place n walk.Good luck getting 2 ur car at night without getting robbed. Location was not well thought out.The hostess barely spoke english n u could'nt understand what she was saying as she called parties 2 their table.I would'nt recommend this place 2 anyone......PERIOD!

Not Just Ambiance – After reading many reviews, I was worried this place was ONLY about the waterfall in the entrance. After my visit I am pleased to say that this is NOT true. Yeah, the place is gorgeous (and HUGE!) but the food and service was amazing! I've been to a lot of hibachi places before, but our cook managed to have many jokes and tricks I had not seen before. Our server was also polite, friendly and attentive. Ribeye dinner was AMAZING.

Cant Wait to Go Back – I really liked this place. Immediate attention, great service, great food, and the portions will not possibly leave anyone hungry! I was a bit jealous that the chef that served us was not as entertaining as others in the place, but she was very attentive to what we wanted and was very friendly. The sashimi and sushi were delicious. Anyone who has been there can attest to the portions....if you are on a budget, enjoy the place and share a meal; you may still have to get a take-home box. Will definitely recommend it to all my friends.

Decent Restaurant for groups – I have been dining at this restaurant for over a year now and it is one of my favorite places to go. My company has booked group dinners here with minimal effort. The staff is accomodating. As with previous postings on this site, you have no control over the types of people who may sit with you to dine, but you do have a right to mention the chef's behavior to the management who will deal with the employee immediately. I do like the fact that you can request to the chef that slight changes be made to the use and amount of certain products to prepare the food. I have seen the chef separate portions of foods to accomodate the customer. All in all, I believe it is a great place to dine.

What is wrong with people?? – Ummm, to the last reviewer....you ARE in Fayetteville. Exactly WHAT did you expect???? Hmmm, a town full of military personnel, a great deal of which are young males. If you have expectations, at least make them realistic.

Decent food, but certainly not fine dining – Although the sign up front says "appropriate dress required" one might wonder what that dress might be as most of the patrons on the night we went were in T-shirts and shorts. The overall decor in the waiting area gives the feel of a up-scale wine or cigar bar, but the regular flow of what I would consider under-dressed patrons detracted from the allure. Seating times were what you'd expect on a weekend night, and drinks were reasonable. Dinner itself is the standard teppanyaki-fare and the prices range from mid 10's to upper 20's. We were a little put-off by some of the off-color remarks that our chef made throughout the evening, and I was particularly offended when he decided to repeatedly swat a decidedly large portion of rice as if to simulate spanking what I could only infer to be a woman's behind. This decidedly crude act along with a few of his more crass remarks to the waitress made it hard for me to treat the evening as a romantic or even family dinner, and more as a mix of "Chappelle's Show" reruns and Food Network programming. The food itself was enjoyable but certainly not gourmet, rice tended towards over doneness and the chicken's natural flavors were overshadowed by the excess of sauces used to cook (and I daresay salinate) the chicken, although most asian cuisine in the US is forced to loose it's natural subtlety to adjust to typically more bold American tastes, so I was not surprised in that respect. Overall, we felt like we were jumping into a meat grinder of sorts as soon as we sat down. Waitresses were polite but curt, the other chefs seemed to handle themselves with more decorum than our chef, although to be fair everyone at our table seemed to enjoy his humor more than I.

Bottom line: If you've got a large wallet and and can't get enough Benihana-style "pack 'em in and push 'em out" style eating; this is your place. Otherwise, there are better selections; which is dissapointing when you consider the amount of potential Miyabi has.
