crooks with no license. I shopped around for air duct cleaning and found the price range for a full house is anywhere from 400 to 600 bucks. They have a coupon from clipper magazine for only $34.95. When it is too good to be true, it probably is. I called them to ask for a license number. The answer was that they don't reveal it on the phone. What a joke! Stay far away from these crooks - American air comfort or American Quality Temperature.

BEWARE! Check Better Business Bureau!. Contacted the company to obtain air duct cleaning. Asked for all 'hidden' charges above the $35 special while making the appt. They answered that it is $35 per main duct and $5 for each additional vent. When they arrived at the home they went into a sales talk of all the extra things that could be done, furnace cleaning for $75, etc. They began cleaning each vent using a hand air pressure device and attached broom. we asked why the high powered vacuum was not being used they said that we did not ask for that service and it is $75 more for each main furnace connection in the basement (we have two). The bill at this point was over $200. We asked them to leave and called the company to explain our concern. The representative insisted I was lying and wanted free service.

After this behavior I looked the company up on the BBB website. I found that although this company name did not exist when I searched by the phone number a different business name came up with 24 complaints and an "F" rating. That complaint record had a second phone number, called the man back using the number for the second company. The same man answered that told me in 9 years they have had no complaints... I asked him about the other company, he said he never heard of it... then I told him I just called him using the phone number for that company... he hung up on me again!

Recommend filing a complant with BBB AND MIchigan Attorney General. They need to be shut down permanently!

Don't be Fooled- They have a new name now. American Quality Temperature A.K.A American Air comfort, does more then duct cleaning, they also perform services such as furnace and air condition repairs- and all this is done illegally! They DO NOT HAVE A LICENSE in the state of Michigan to this work. I researched them after they took my grandmother for over 200.00 for a A/C tune up. The ad was for 34.000 or 39.00 dollars to look at the a/c, but when they were all done the bill was for just under 200.00 dollars. My grandmother was shocked and asked why so much and they just gave her some song and dance. When I found this out I talked with the neighbors to see what they saw(she lives in attached condos, all joined together) and it turns out they did not even wash the air condition off or take the cover off to inspect anything. Five weeks later when the weather got hot her air condition would not cool the house, we had another company come out and they put freon in the unit because it was low. Freon was the main reason why American Quality temp bill was so hi, they claimed to have put in 5 lbs of freon. It turns out the unit holds less then 3 lbs. How does that make sense.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!. We got duped by the $34.95 coupon as well! I was not at home when they arrived (because they showed up an hour late) and when they saw that my wife was home alone, they began to inflate the cost of the duct cleaning. When they where told "no thanks" They demanded $65 for a service call, even though they didn't do anything! They actually sat down at our kitchen table and refused to leave until they got paid!

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would encourage any one else with a similar experience to do the same.

P.S. A rating is required? They do not even deserve one star

RUN AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. The coupon is worthless. They told us the coupon was only for the space just below the vent cover. However, if we didn't do the long vents the house would be very dusty. After they supposidly did soome work, (the little paper filters I put on the vents still get dusty) they just presented a bill for $423.00. My 73 year old husband felt intimitated and paid them. If I had not been at work I would have thrown them out. THIS COMPANY IS ONLY ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY FOR ALMOST NO WORK. BEWARE

STAY AWAY - MISLEADING ADVERTISING!. I made an appointment to have our ducts cleaned based on a coupon ($34.95 for all heat vents, 1 main duct, 1 access panel and 1 cold air return) but this company is a scam! They charged $35 for addt'l vents (thought the coupon was for ALL vents?!?) and wanted to charge an additional $800 for addt'l main ducts to be cleaned. After seeing the estimate, we told them to stop working because we weren't going to pay that but they drilled a hole in a second duct anyway. One of the men who came was nice enough, but the man who seemed to be in charge of the job was unprofessional, and I felt very uncomfortable around him - especially after he threatened my husband on their way out! I could go on about what a negative experience it was, but bottom line is that customers should stay away from this company! We have another company coming to assess how to fix what AQT did, and will be reporting this company to the appropriate agency. I have only rated them with one star because a rating is required.

Bad Business. We had never had our ducts cleaned and have an older home. These people mislead you over the phone into believing this is routine home care. They came to our home and started working before talking at all about cost. We assumed the cost per duct with our coupon would have our total around $100.00. Next thing we knew, they told us we had additional ducts and other needs. When it was all said and done we paid almost $1,000! We have an 800 sq. ft. home. We are just sick about this whole experience. The men who did the work were not professional or courteous. They behaved as though we were ridiculous to ask questions and request information. We actually felt uncomfortable having them in our home. Stay away from this company.

CALL SOMEONE ELSE. American Quality Temperature is a company to AVOID. They will charge you a tremendous amount of money for their services without warning and tell you that it's because of additional vents, ducts, dirty this-n-thats.... $650 for less than 1 hour worth of duct cleaning is more than a rip-off, it's infuriating. Find someone else.

costs WAY more than the coupon!!. I just used American Quality Temperature the other day. Of course I have never had duct cleaning and apparently according to their assessment this house has never had it done! I agree, they never did show me the camera. I had more than one main duct which added more $$ on, I had more returns which they did tell me over the phone that that would cost more. My blower motor according to them was horrible and they showed me what was in there. Also, because of how bad it was, they highly recommended the sanitizing and deodorizing.Of course I wanted to do what was best for my health, but my total came to $1,367.75!!!

I give 2 stars because they did do a good job and were very helpful, but the cost was crazy!!!

Stay away!. Had my ducts cleaned with the "coupon". They came out and started working first without giving me a quote. They cut into my ducts before they gave me the full quote. The whole job cost $290!! The sad thing is that I called for two weeks straight and could not talk to the owner. They wouldn't call me back. So I am going to Ruth to the rescue and they will be accountable for their actions. No camera like the coupon said. They also claim 100% satisfaction guarantee. But, they don't stand for the claim!
