Great yoga, great people. I tried several other studios around the area, but could never really get into yoga. Then I went to a class at Detroit Yoga - and I was pretty much immediately hooked. DY gets it right - there's no irritating music, no moving your body in happy circles, no acoustic guitar sing-a-longs: nothing but yoga. It's a very challenging practice that I genuinely find myself looking forward to.

I've now been practicing at DY for 2 years and can say it's definitely strengthened both my mind and body. Definitely recommended.

Finally!. Finally, a place to really practice and learn yoga. The owner, Jason, is professional and knowledgeable, and he truly cares that you develop your yoga practice for a healthier, happier lifestyle. You will work hard, but your yoga practice will blossom.

Pure, no-nonsense yoga - The Best!. I tried many yoga studios before finally finding Detroit Yoga. Owner Jason Schramm offers excellent classes that instill mental discipline along with physical endurance. I'm not into all the fancy "bells and whistles" you find at other studios. At Detroit Yoga, it's all about one thing: the yoga. I can't imagine practicing anywhere else. Give this place a try and chances are you'll be coming back.

TRUE YOGA. This is the place to go when you are ready to learn how to change your mind, not just your body. You will learn to practice self-discipline, commitment, persistence, and patience, which are essential to a healthy, happy life. If you are ready to learn how to really live your life and experience the present moment, this is the yoga for you. You will become both physically and mentally stronger, more flexible, and more present.

BEWARE. You are about to embark on a year of stress. Jason is not only like a drill seargant, he reserves the right to change his schedule, remove classes, close for the weekend on a whim, etc... per the contract he has you sign for a one year commitment. Forget about ever getting out of your contract. He will make you feel uncomfortable to be around him, to the point where you can't even be in his presence, but again, no way of getting out of the contract. He removed the classes I was able to attend based on my schedule, but will not let me out of his contract. He has caused more stress in my life than I ever had before starting yoga. He is against everything yoga should be about. Please beware.
